After the Alfa tax nonsense, there was an urgent need for a new lump of shite. Had to be local, cheap and with tax and test. Quick flick through faecesbook and this turned up just across Bolton. Quick look round, test drive till it got nice and warm and I was happy. Deal done. Home. Sorted. After the pez station shot of course!

So. What do you all reckon?

Very nice! :) Quite like the seats in these...for some reason...thick bolsters perhaps or the half leather trim.

Four-pot kettle, or V6 for ULTIM8_AS_IMORTALITEE...?  :)

Wasn't it EVO magazine that called these "worryingly good" at the time?

Tiff Needell seemed impressed too: "just about the best handling I've experienced on a front wheel drive "

A diesel one has to be on my hit list... It has the old L series for OMG MPG and no kinky common rail sensor crap to worry about.

Teh Interwebz says it's a 1.8 Kettle.  Nice looking motor - colour suits it.  I almost bought a dizzler one of these a few months back, but then found that the Tuning Box of Doom wouldn't work on the later L-series, so bought the Laguna estate instead.  Not the best decision I've ever made.

It is a k series 1.8. Goes quite well and seems a decent thing all told. I feel all "modern".

No offence like but always considered these as the least desirable of the MG range. Only because I think they look a little clumsy to be honest, not from experience of owning one or anything. So basically a pretty hopeless reply, soz.

For some reason, the MGR cognoscenti don't like the HHR. Thumbs up from me though. One of my sister's mates has had one for well over 10 years, and with proper maintenance it's been very little bother.

Well played, sir.

I like them, the Mk1 shape is a good looking car, it's more attractive than the 25 shape model and the face lift shape coming to think off it.

It's just a shame that the K series is a bit of a ticking time bomb.

That looks quite smart. I like the ZS & ZTs, but after a previous OMGHGF incident I just couldn't risk it.
Had a fun experience in a V6 engined ZS at Knockhill race circuit a few years ago, these puppies can shift!

There's a red V6 for sale near me, bit overpriced I think (4 figures).  I kind of fancy it but suspect I might kill myself!  Anyway it's got too many pedals.  However, the blue one looks like a good buy, well done.
