L@@K here we have a rare BARN FIND !!!1!

At least I'm guessing that is what the eBay ad said/will say. Saw it in Kidderminster yesterday. Apologies for pics struggling with a tablet and my own incompetence.

I too struggle with tablets and incontinence, but that does look rather nice!

LOUISE!!! Welcome back, long time no see. Hope things are OK with the little'uns?

I saw the brown beauty outside your house a couple of weeks  back, trust it's still running OK?

Posted

Good to see you back Louise!  As for the Peugeot, nice find.  I used to have the van version, it had the comfiest seats I've ever seen in a van.

Great spot.  I reckon that'll look eleventy times better for a bit of a wash - unless all the panels fall off, obviously.

+1 on the welcome back!

Thanks, I couldn't not post that one, esp after having to beg Matt to actually take the pics.  Yes Mr Duke the kids are fine (but bonkers) and the Astra plods on happily: it's going better than the Audi at the mo! It doesn't inspire me at all, but it does the job, can't complain really.

My dad had one for a short while in the late 80's/early 90's, possibly a van too, in horrible green. I think that was the last one I'd seen so got mega excited when I saw this one.

Hooray, it's the return of one of the decent people!  Nice to see your virtual face on the site again.

Great spot!

One day I will have to own a seventies era Peugeot. Came close with that lovely 604 that Pete-m had a few years back, they knew how to do understated elegance back then!

How times have changed!

Wow, great spot. Next to the Renault 6 this is the sort of French crud I'd love to own, I have a penchant for estate versions.

Welcome back Louise and GR8 spotting. Love those 204s.

Posted

It's a 304, the 204's headlights are a different shape.

But yes, they are a lovely drive...

Found it!

VJP 127S was a 1977 304 van bought from the local travelling folk in 1984.  My mother loved it.  Even I did, we still had the second HA van at the time and this was a world away.

Posted

There's actually still a surprising number of these old crates about.  Would love another one - such an amazingly comfortable drive.

I hope it wasn't getting dragged away to be fragged or raced.

Wow eddy's van one is a bit spesh, I didn't know they sold those over here! nice one

See if you can spot this rather understated Rangie blending in quite nicely with the moderns:

Subtle paint job, no?

I was wondering (not being a sad geek expert) if it was a genuine 1971 or if it was TaxFree* on a private plate or summat. But it looked like it could be genuine esp as when the owner got in it, what looked like a static seat belt fell on the floor. Horrible wheels, if I could take decent pics I'm sure* you'd agree with me.

cannae see reggie, but it's on early wheels and a wee body lift.

Was a J, makes it quite early? Did have two slabs of checker-plate on the tailgate :?

Posted

A 'J' makes it very early, and whilst not an expert I am a geek. From that angle the only way I could tell if it's genuine would be from the rear pillars, the black vinyl covering came in 1972, so 'K' reg. but at anytime over the past 40 years someone could have stuck some vinyl on to update it.

If it is a free tax ringer, at least the owner isn't taking the piss, unless of course it's an auto 300tdi!

Yep, very early then until we can peep at the engine\gearbox combo it may well be on "the free"

BTW, I have two pieces of chequer plate on my tailgate...holes y'see. :)

Spotted signs for historic vehicle show or summat on the way to Tescs, trying to get in before 4. I thought: sod it what do the kids need more, food or rubbish cars?

Was a proper old-boy classics show really, loads of Austin things, loads of Morris Minors.

Could have taken more pics but was shy and in a rush, SOZ.

Also saw this last week, I thought that ugly faded rear end has got to make it a sure fire winner on AS:

Horrible thing.

That's a very cool location for a car show.  (And a Tesco, for that matter.)

Oo yes, rhydw i'n hoffi Gilbern Invaders.  I spotted a red one peeping out from under a tarp somewhere between Devil's Bridge and Lampeter on the way back from Shitefest, but there was nowhere to stop and pap it so you'll have to take my word for it.

Horrible thing.

Harsh!  :-D
