Hey, this looks alright, it's brown and not been twatted about with by "scene" numpties.

I would give some coins for it, even if the back bumper is awol, won't be that much, surely...

Oh.

Oh dear.

'GIVE SOMEONE LOTS OF JOY'

That would be the seller then if he actually found anyone fucking stupid enough to pay even a 1/4 of his asking price.

He seems to base that price on it not being dirty, and having opening quarterlights. I nearly bought one just as clean, but kitted out as a minibus, for £1800..... then I realised that's just short of two grand to travel at a snails pace with a deafening noise behind you. I love 'em, but I'd never pay for one.

I remember my dad selling his various T25s for pennies, if only he'd held onto them until now, he'd be a millionaire.

THIS IS A VW T25 2.0CC WITH A AIRCOOLED ENGINE

Eh? Why do people do that? Maybe it really is propelled by one of these:

I've never found T25s to be that noisy to be honest, at least not minibus / camper versions - the engine is that far back that the noise level isn't too bad up front. The 78PS versions go adequately well too, and the 2.1 injection goes like poo off a spade. I'd much rather have one of these than a T2, but I wouldn't pay more than about £700 for one.

£3.5k? Only 27 early SRi's left? wish I'd kept the one I sold to Cavette now :lol:

Posted

It's not worth that at all and it's been spazzed up with stupid 18 inch alloys, the wrong indicators and other shit.Yeah, you could reverse all that but it's still too expensive. That's more than I'd expect to see a better 130 or Calibre go for to be honest and they are both more desirable cars.Espatic: excuse my extreme dimness but only just worked out who you are!

Posted

Is a Mk 2 Cav really worth £3500 now?.

No. Take off a zero, and another zero, then a five and you might be getting close- if it was a minter and there was £3 worth of change down the back of the seats.

1976 Ford Cortina 1600 L Estate

Very nice looking Cortina, Like it's driving stright out of 1977 but it's not worth £5250.

That looks like the paint's barely dry on it. I bet a lot of rust will break through within a couple of years.

I would go for 133000 by the look of the steering wheel!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. If you read the speil, they seem to have replaced most of the bits and pieces that would suffer in a high mileage job. Be interesting to see if he has any of the old MOTs. On that subject, with MOTs now computerised, it would be a great help to the motoring public if there was a way of viewing them on line. You could then check stuff like orevious mileage, fail sheets, etc.Not that it's ever going to happen of course.........

Posted

My Rover has only been MOT'd on the computerised system twice, and both times the mileage was the same as it was MOT'd at the place it was stored....

you can also check the history using the document reference number on the V5

Too many noughts on the start price I reckon. When these things look this tatty on the outside they are normally held together with fresh air.

Aye. I'd never pay more than a tenth of that for a Mk2 Golf, but it is beautifully done. I like modifying when it's done well. I love the wicker glove box!
