Nice wheels.

(Bet they are forced-to-fit 100mm pcd jobs)

Has been fitted with uprated suspension and some sexy alloys, which give it that Super Cool Hot Rod Look

ROFL

They are the shittiest most innapropriate alloys I think I have ever seen on a car.

What a spazmo.

Hey, here's a nice looking 'moar-door' escort...

Posted Image

Sort of thing I'd be perfectly happy to spend a couple of grand on, so long as it's sorted & all legal....

UNFINISHED PROJECT

Oh...

NO MOT OR TAX

Oh dear...

I assume that's 'mental health'

Hmmmm - my definition of sleeper wouldn't be an Escort thats painted orange with fucking huge spot lights on the front. Or is that just me?

Posted

No, it doesn't even look a bit 'sleeper' to me. Actually, I do quite like that but could never bring myself to consider that an unfinished project with no tax or MOT could ever be £7500

Right, im no expert on bus prices, but surely.... £25,000?!? for a 12 year old bus, surely not.

You could buy 3 coaches (off ebay) for that price.

LOLZ at the Escort... I read your post and clicked the link, and started reading the detail of the advert. Started reading the engine spec and the like and thought 'road legal or not, Pog's a bit off here - somebody would prob pay £2k for this no trouble'.I then checked the starting price.

door handles for the price of a car? HELL YEEEH

Posted

Funnily enough, the door handles for the Interceptor I had until recently didn't cost anywhere near £600. A secondhand front bumper did though, as did the wing.

Posted

Hmm, a tidy Rekord. Must be pretty freakin' rare. However we know rare doesn't mean valuable. Also it's got a biffed wing, that an idle insurance assessor would slap it on a cat C/D for.

Yours for only £4000 RESERVE NOT MET.

I can see that attracting fuck all bidding activity.

I dont reckon thats too far off the mark to be honest, much more than 25k earning potential in that and could well have another 12 years' use on school runs ahead of it (unless the forthcoming disability regulations terminate its career prematurely). Double deckers are getting on for 200 grand apiece brand new. Have a look at this page and see what else you could get for the money...

I've been watching that story unfold on RR, I can't quite beileve what some people think old cars are worth, Mind you talk on the BMW forum it's linked from doesn't help with people saying it should go in a museum, It's hardly anything that special!.

There was that bronze Opel Commodore on ebay only a few weeks back that was up for £695 with MOT and the seller couldn't shift it.

Unbelievable!, What's the betting it's a hoaxer though.

From here or retrorides
Posted

yeah its one of those 'secret' auctions innit, of which 99.7% have got some dodgy bidding going on in the background.

Posted

40 Large & "Reserve not met"...faaaaarking hell.

Posted

It is a lovely car but THAT much, really?

Posted

Not a chance in wotsit. A genuine Decap might do that, but it's got too many doors and far too much roof. I doubt it'd manage half that really.

It's at £4359 with a day to go, And it's still not met it's reserve!

And written off but hey its only £750 because it has jsw in the number plate

The bonnet's also worth a few quid to the conversion boys who lob XU9s and XU10s into 205s. It has a higher top plate so you can cant the engine properly :)

But not £750 - you would be lucky to get £50 for the high bonnet. I debated braking one near the start of the year and decided it want worth my time once I ooked at what bits went for.
