That letter reads like the transcript to a phonecall made by an angry mumsnet user to burger king after they got kicked out because her 11 year old child smeared shit all over the table. I really hope he sent it.

Now I like Saabs, and this old 99 is a honey, but HOW MUCH????:shock:

Unsurprisingly, that Escort has been for sale for ever. He doesn't seem to have got the hint. I wonder what he paid for it?!

Christ, even Lotus Cortinas struggle to bring in that much, even the ones with a bit of racing heritage. What makes him think he's going to get that much for a sortEc?

Not on eBay but not sure where these belong so lobbed this post here..

Yep, £899. For ONE bike light. It'd be cheaper to get knocked off and have a few weeks off on the Pat and Mick.

When I were a lad, I had a dynamo on my racer, and the system had a separate bulb that ran off a battery as well. It was bright as fuck, and not 900 bills.

I've got a couple of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cree-XML-T6-C ... 1c2b4e647b

It's a knock-off of a Magicshine, which is itself a knock-off of something from Hope or Lupine, I can't remember which. They give all the light you could want, I had to buy a diffuser for the one I use on the bike because it was too dazzling. I use the other one for mines and caves and it's like daylight.

Ta, added to my watchlist for when I get paid.

Yeah, I know it's way off-topic, but if any of you cycle, I can't stress how much visibility a decent torch gives you. Tilted down on the road like a headlight, it's much more effective than any ultra-bright strobing thing by itself, and you can see where you're going as a bonus. I use a Fenix L2D torch up front, keep the angle sensible and it won't blind oncoming drivers. Anything that casts a decent pool of light on the road like a headlight means you get seen long before you would do with just a small bike light.

In small text, it appears that the Maestro is actually sold. Probably not for £3k but you could take a big hit on that and feel chuffed!

The R21 Turbo I posted on the FB AS group recently, has come up for sale:

Only asking a grand for a shed, which needs a turbo, a respray and myriad other jobs doing to actually make it usable seems a bit salty to me.

Baby due any day now and just wont have the time to finish and make her the beast she once was.

Oh aye. Which? The car or the baby?

He should read the saga of that blue one on R-R that the lad can't give away for £500, the blue one hasn't got 'cocklicker wheels' either

The Chevanne's been on twice too, made £511 and £690, he remains hopeful though has lowered his expectations a bit:

Q: hi, how much would you take cash for the van thanks

A: Hi, thanks for the email, I would like to be some where near the 2k mark. Many thanks Oliver

Hadn't seen that one (mostly 'cos I hadn't dropped in on RR for a while), but that confirms what I thought. So, I should probly be able to get a decent one for a bag.

Anyone know if these'll go on classic insurance yet?

Moar "pictures taken in a white room so it must be RAER"

Now I like these old Beemers as much as anyone but EIGHT GRAND?

It's bloody nice, but really, you could buy a nice one for £1500, and piss away a few weekends and £1500 and get it looking just as good.

the well known Dr Oloyede who has a passion for vehicle detailing to the highest level, you can see examples of his work on www.bmwclassics.co.uk.

Now, I'm not selling this car...because I restored it and sold it nearly six years ago (although I gather it's only done about 1K miles since) and so have no vested interested in the current sale. Also, be aware that 4-Star Classics will be selling this on commission for the current owner so that figure isn't what he'll get.

However, what I will say to arm-chair...or rather 'computer-chair'...experts is this:

It's bloody nice, but really, you could buy a nice one for £1500, and piss away a few weekends and £1500 and get it looking just as good.

You really think so?! I have restored several E28s over the years so I speak from a position of some experience. Each has consistently cost me circa £5K to restore PROPERLY purely in monetary terms and notwithstanding many hundreds of hours of my own labours. You can see them on my website.

So, if you think you can "It's bloody nice, but really, you could buy a nice one for £1500, and piss away a few weekends and £1500 and get it looking just as good." Why don't you stop "eating bacon" get up off your computer chair and have a go?

Here are a few pictures which may give you a helping hand and guide you through what's involved. Once you've done all of this you'll then have to consider taking the car to a good body and paintworks to achieve the final result. Unless, of course, you're so personally skilled that you can do that as well over one of your few weekends and for £1500?

During: http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/gallery/in ... =cc_during

After: http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/gallery/in ... gmGal=m535

Perhaps you are really skilled and can do stuff like my friend Tony is currently doing on an E28 (because this is what most of them will be like now once you delve under the surface and one of the reasons I no longer do them). And perhaps you're so fast you can do it all in a few weekends and all for £1500? Take a look at this thread on another forum:

http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... 596&page=1

Still think it's so easy? If so...we all look forward to seeing your results in a few weekends time!

WHO?

Well, now you know! (And now that you know that makes me even more "well known"?) And really they should have written "Mr" (not "Dr") because I have an FRCS after my name.

Kind regards

I've been very tempted by this one - now only £600 with a smashed drivers window.

I'm currently resisting the temptation to get that one off RR just for the engine - My GTA needs both head gaskets doing, which is easiest as an engine out job. If the engines coming out, I'm thinking I may be better replacing it with an R21 turbo lump, much lighter and revvier than PRV pig iron

Thanks, I can now write 'bored' and 'underwhelmed' after my name.
