Anyone fancy a nice Rover 75?

Well I've given it a couple of weeks, and despite this car having some remarkable qualities I don't think it's quite for me.  I just find it a bit too big, to be honest I think I've discovered that I prefer 4 cylinder petrol engines to V6s.

I thought I'd offer it to the good folk at Autoshite before I brave the choppy waters that is ebay next week.  I don't want much for it either.

Spec:

Rover 75 V6 2.5 Connoisseur SE Automatic

2002 '52' reg

94,000 miles

3 previous owners, last one in Cornwall

MOT 'till 27/1/14

Good points:

Rover service history, book stamped up to 88,000 (late 2011)  Cambelt done at 55,000 it says

Air con works

Sunroof works

Cruise works

Drives very nicely, no clonks it would appear.  Engine sounds lovely, no rattles

Really good condition inside and out, ding on driver's door being worst I can see

Box changes up and down fine, kicks down

Both keys present

Handsome car, colour suits it

Bad points:

Needs a couple of tyres, borderline

Short MOT

Leak in boot somewhere, dripping into wheelwell

Radio seems to be stuck on Radio 2, buttons don't work very often.  Steering controls OK

Air con compressor whines when air con is on - fine when you switch it off.

Paid £450 for this and this is all I'd put it up for on ebay, despite me having sorted a few issues with it.  I'd take £400 from a recognised Autoshiter.  That's surely cheap enough if, like me, you've always wanted to try one!  Currently taxed but that's not included (although available)

Nice looking 75. Sounds pretty much the top spec with

All the gadgets, plus the ball ache of a Cambelt wasn't done too long ago either. Bet thats lovely to waft about in. Tempting and local to me too!

Are you sure you don't prefer 4 cylinder DERV engines, he said in a 306 turbo dieseling way?

Registered 24/9/2002 so won't be in the (earlier) standard tax band.

Is that already on the OMGwewillalldrown taxation? If yes, how much is it?

Yes it's £154 for 6 months as opposed to £123.75 if it had been pre-2001

Crikey that's VALU. If you look in the classifieds etc you'll normally only get complete dud 75s for that cash.

Carlo, if I were back in Kurnow-land, I would be sorely tempted to smoke around in that on nice dry sunny weekends.

a total bargain -  and a lovely colour too .

(too juicy for a daily, I have my 1149cc Twingo 1 for that !   (or the Western Greyhound green busses!! )

If my ZT is anything to go by.. These are GR9. I bloody love mine. 400 quid is no money for a nice one

Would love this but no cash till i sell honda and its a fucking long way....... :dazed034:

Please...do sell it to Dave. It'd be an ace motor for someone, and after all the work he's done for AS in general...I know where an '88 Sterling might be found, but I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. This car outclasses it by a country mile. Hooka brotha upp!

I WANNA C D8V GET DIS MOTA!

Absolute bargain. I can't recommend this epic motoring experience highly enough.

Whisper it quietly but I'd do a deal for less than £400 to someone on here who obviously wouldn't mess me about...

I'd be interested although your so far away....

How much tax do you have in it?

Is the leather all in good nick?

No idea how I'd get hold of it though & how i'd insure it etc...

This is a proper bargain.  Amazed it hasn't sold yet.  The 75 with this engine / box combination is a great drive.

We seem to have lost my reply and your message today.  It has got just over 5 months tax still on which I would want £120 for, depending on how much I get for it etc etc.  Leather is in excellent condition.
