93,000 ish on the clock, I was going to get out and have a look for the exact figure but its horrendous weather out there! The mots ( huge bundle) back it up

Posted

Wow! That is brilliant. I'd actually rather have that than my W124, but I suppose it's too late.

Brother in law stays in Exeter. Sierra Ghia estate. If this is still homeless after dibs have occurred I may have to...

The ex wuvvum/robt/brookjm Sierra is Sold! Really pleased that its staying on the forum

Excellent, glad it's sold as I was tempted to have it back! Fingers crossed it should pass the next MoT easily.

Posted

Not surprised!  Good show its still here- we need to bring it up north next go round though!  That was an absolute steal for someone though

Posted

Excellent. Can't wait to find out to whom it has sold

I leave it to the man himself (ok so deffo not fredtransit or louise2cv) to let you know

Don't piss in my pocket and tell me it's raining!

You're only saying that so the group of prospective purchasers don't trek over to Norfolk and post dog shit through your letterbox out of spite.

We all know it was you, admit it  :-D

On a serious note, You would have bought this if you'd have seen it earlier?

It came from Norfolk in the first place! I am kicking myself for not buying it but I need to be sensible...

I have that many people now putting dog shit through my letterbox its pointless as i dont know who its off or why  and my own dogs are adding to it ... i prefered it when people just pointed and chucked stones at me in the street

Might have missed an asterisk from that post.

I do like going south for a car though.

I bought my cortina from that neck of the woods. Drove down with a mate leaving fife at midnight, arrived 9am ish ,had breakfast, bought cortina from Saltash, drove home again.

Made it as far back as Penrith before I had to pull over for a snooze. It was a bloody epic roadtrip. The cortina never missed a beat in all the 550 miles home either.

Cost me a freakin fortune in petrol though, I'm still recovering from that bill 7 years later

I just saw on Facebook that he has sold it to Elton John and David Furnish as a weekend car.

Posted

Damn it!

Elton and David pipped me to the post on a J-reg Proton on ebay last month.

FFS Gary, are you on a car buying spree or something?

PS. Can I have dibs on the Sierra wagon should you decide to sell :-D

The Escort's gone to a friend, so a space has been created.

Plan is to put the Sierra in for an MOT (already booked for the end of January). Assuming it isn't completely rotten, once any issues are fixed and it has a full test I might sell the Micra.

Hopefully after all that I might have some funds left to spend on the Simca/Allegro/Mini.

He's being collected from the station in the luxury to which he'll become accustomed in the ghia estate.

There's well over half a tank of fuel so that should get you back home pretty much. I've got the paperwork together, including a big pile of MOTs, bills, service book etc, plus you can have the Haynes BOL and a Ford CARS 1991 brochure I got hold of.

Bloody bargain there! There's a chap up my neck of the woods who has always run a Sierra estate. His red K plate has just been replaced with one identical to this.

It's here!

Made it back OK yesterday, despite getting a bit lost on the way back and somehow adding about 40 miles to the journey.

Checked this morning, and a lot of the water had escaped (the expansion tank was completely empty), but it wasn't overheating or anything so I'll just keep a close eye on it for now.

Do what I did, buy a bottle of radweld in the expectation of needing it and then find that the car decides to not lose any more fluid.
