Bad idea. Clubs have their benefits, but they also have many downsides. Big clubs are good as they can get parts remanufacturered and put on huge events. Small clubs frankly aren't worth bothering with for as broad a church as Autoshite.

I have to say I think we should stay as we are, it's pretty unique on AS and all the better for it.

The only benefit I see is that we could have public liability insurance paid for by a membership fee, to cover Shitefests and other meets. Some classic car shows insist that clubs have PLI in place (NEC for example). 

 

The downsides are many. I mean, look at how easily arguments start about a mere forum! A club could be an entire world of pain.

I am going to try for my badge in this tonight as I need to drive to Newcastle this week and my tyres are well fooked. Sadly I did not seem to get a key for the locking wheel nuts when I got the car.
