They are about to repeat the program in a few minutes at 12.00 noon.

Wait till you see the selling price, you are a wealthy man Nigel with your collection!!!!

I just don't understand why they painted it. It already had a nice paint job in an original colour. I liked how the spare steering box arrived with the shaft cut off. It's good to see scrappies are feckless world wide.

It looks as though those of use who use Freeview for TV reception can't get this... unless anyone knows different?

I would hazard a guess that prior to purchasing the car, Brewer and the production team had entered in to an agreement with the bubble car Museum as what spec colour and price they would pay for the finished car? In a similar fashion to what they did last year with the Isetta which was quite obviously commissioned by BMW Uk

Brilliant. So hope to see your Syrena one day! It does require a build thread though.

Posted

Sorry. Don't do build threads.

I could rush forward, then I get bored and work on something else. It'll be fits n starts, anyway

What the actual fuck have they done to that Coupe De Ville?

fweVOzd.jpg

Take a car with original 60s paint, spray it snot green, put gold-leaf on the bonnet.

Remove all traces of originality and brand it a "magicaw mowta"

Cars are original once.

Now that ones gonna be horrible for ever.

Boils my fucking piss.

Could have left it exactly as it was and said its got patina I suppose. Rat look boys would love it. They have tried to follow the American style I think

Ok then. I'll rephrase. Their interpretation of the American lowrider style. Sold for 25k. Aparently.

Arrgggh, my eyeballs have just cracked. That is a err, vivid colour is it not. I actually liked the look of it before they sprayed it. Oh shit, does that make me a 'scene twat'??

Just started playing this weeks Brewer Bingo.

- Yes!

- GET IN!

- Need to get a bit cheaper as I am a wheeler dealer

- Needs loads of work

- futlie stab at bodywork

- Terraclean advert

Disappointed not to hear about the legs and front panel being nice and straight/hasn't seen the wrong side of a hedge, or the boot floor to not have been in any accidents. :(

Still awaiting

- I have always wanted one

- It's a big old bus, when explaining the dents

- Some form of Elvis quip

- A promise from Mike about he and Edd 'cruising the strip'

It doesn't look too bad, esé. I can't help thinking it's trying to be a '64 Impala though.

i used to have it.....

"In my time, I've bought and sold literally hundreds of these."

The colour was dreadfull but then again it's not my kind of thing. I have to say I preferred it when they did the stuff themselves. You can relate to knobbing around for 3 weeks hitting a bumped panel  with a toffee hammer trying to get it straight because you're to tight to pay for a replacement panel. Just saying "we sent it to the bodyshop and it cost 4 grand" is something I can't relate to as it's something I'll never do but seems pretty easy especially if you've got 4 grand.. I see they glossed over the fact the engine was rough and the rear quarters looked like they'd been used for axe throwing practice.

Not seen last nights one yet but last weeks Lotus one was probably the worst one I have ever seen, a total waste of 45 minutes of my time.

I would have rolled around in that Caddy with its original paint and body work. An original, one owner matchin numbers 62 caddy, AND THEY PAINT IT WITH SMURF SNOT.

:( Sutty is not amused.

"Now, this fella behind me, Nigel, has already been out in the motor and he likes the way it gets down the road and he's making all the right noises. Let's see if I can close him down."

LIAR. Is that why the car is always reversed up against a locked unit door? Like anyone would park it that way when they returned.

Just like when you 'test drove' the TVR Cerbera and on your return it was parked exactly how it was when you turned up.

I would like to read his for sale adverts, too. He must make no mention of the work carried out and new parts fitted, when listed.

We know Mike, we know.

Bring back Rich Sutton. When doing the maffs at the end, he would be able to say 'X only cost 'a couple of pounds'.

Posted

Four grand they spent painting that. Four. Grand.

For it to resemble something that looks as though it fell out of the Sphinx's nose.

We preferred you rattle canning Capris and MX-5's, me old China.

Posted

Four thousand pounds.

One owner. Matching numbers.

Green.

With gold leaf.

You don't put gold leaf on cars. There's no gold leafing cars!!!

Posted

You do gold leaf and pinstripe cars if you're a balla.

Shame Mike's closer to a space ball-a.

That Lotus episode last week just felt like a slot filler, A case of having a programme too many and having to find something to fill it, dull as ditch water.
