Have a random bump. Still 'planning' for this event. It'll be very minimalist because I want to keep costs to an absolute minimum. I'm tempted to ask the Scottish contingent to provide catering. Everyone needs to experience the magic of 'the slice.'

You can really taste the corners.

I'm sure some sort of arrangement could be made to provide slabs of lorne sausage; for the twisted among us blackheart lorne (lorne sausage with black pudding through it), black pudding, potato scones, Scottish morning rolls...

If not all the catering, I'm sure we can bring a selection of local delicacies.

Aye - we'll have a hotel for most meals, but a dose of 'healthy' Scottish cuisine might be fun! Too many people missed out on the corners at Shitefest '13.

I'm looking forward to this, what's 'the slice'?

Lorne (square) sausage.

It's a big square sausage thats cut in to slices. Similar to normal sausages but with more fat and cereal. Well, that's my (English) opinion of it anyway.

It's a square sausage. Kinda like a burger but sausage and square flavoured. I'm sure me and Andy can provide caterings again. This time we can also come more prepared as the list of things that were "forgotten" was rather embarrassing when we met up for the trip south to Malham. Things like a cool box, proper utensils and a bigger frying pan will be more justified seeing how well the slice was received by the (albeit small) group who tried it in the North Yorkshire Dales. On my part a table for the wee stove would be nice.

Like cms206 says...blackheart sausage, tattie scones and Morton's rolls are also a must. I may even get some proper Stornoway black pudding. Widely regarded as the best.

Do you get fruit pudding in the southern south? Quite like a slice of that...

+1 for providing a Scottish breakfastular experience.

Refrigeration shouldn't be an issue when you're here. Either the hotel or our house should be able to provide chilling. Of course, you may want a coolbox to keep your beer cold. There may be sun. Possibly. If we're lucky. But best bring a brolly. You never know.

Still looking forward to this, I have no idea what a slice is, my knowledge of scottish health food begins and ends with deep fried Mars bars and I've yet to try one.  It'll be an education!

It's entirely possible by then that I will also have managed to change the Rover's waterpump so that I don't have to stop every 20 miles to refill the coolant.

This is looming closer. Need to get the Lancia road worthy...

Good location, a nice easy stroll from Brum, I must find some suitable shite to own for this.

I certainly wont be missing this this time! shitefest 2012 at betaboys I nearly made it to (suitable excuse- I was off collecting a £400 merc 190) and immediately regretted it ( both missing shitefest and the merc -was a dog)

MOT permitting ill be in the Sierra.

If anyone is coming from, or via Middlesborough can you bring a Parmo as I have never tasted this delicacy.

I, for my part can bring local raw, un-pasturised milk and some proper bacon if you like.

Is there off roading / green laning this time?

Not planning on it, but there will be a scenic drive. This may include non-4x4-suitable greenlanes depending on how the planning goes. Even if it doesn't, we'll get well away from civilisation. Then possibly through Aberystwyth to scare the locals (though shite motoring is considered pretty normal around here!).

Ok, was thinking if taking my old trail bike in the back of the car that's all. No worries I just need to find some suitable shite.

I do hope someone's going to arrange for a cow to fall through a roof.

A Shitefest without bovine incidents is a Shitefest without dignity.

I'll see what I can arrange.

I'm hoping to get some quality* guest motors on site. A Hyundai Stellar is already looking fairly certain. One of the earliest in the UK!

I'm a big fan of lorne sausage, but we need some local nosh as well so I'll bring some cockles and laverbread.  That'll sort us out.

Please bring butteries!

and jump-leads.

I really ought to show my face at this one, but I have no idea how anti-social/depressed/suicidal I will be feeling in May, so depending how things are I may pop across.  If I do manage to get my arse in gear it might be a nice outing for the TR7, most likely to be a last minute decision where I'll end up leaving an "I called but you were out" card at the field.

actually fuck bringing pasties , Cornish rattler cider should make for an interesting weekend.
