jmsguzzi Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Apologies if this is a proper shit thread but looking at an Alfa 159 Sportwagon today got me thinking. So cars that look better as the less popular estate (Volvo's excluded). I'll start:
Micrashed Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 robinmasters, Conrad D. Conelrad, KruJoe and 1 other 4
Richard Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Nearly all cars look better as an estate, the only exceptions being home conversion lookalikes like the Laguna 1.
dollywobbler Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 A Citroen GS saloon looks nice, an estate looks as nice. A GSA hatch is nasty, a GSA estate wins. The Vauxhall Vectra generally looks a dog's dinner. The estate, especially with smoked rear lenses on the other hand... The Dacia Logan saloon is a bit grim. It all gets much better in estate form. Actually, perhaps controversially, I've decided the CX looks better as a load lugger too.
ifc63 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I know some people think they look a bit like a small hearse but I've always liked the Allegro estate. To me the saloon, especially the 4 door, looks a bit chubby to me. KruJoe, RedSparrow and vulgalour 3
John F Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 ^ Really? It's the different between dogshit & catshit as far as I'm concerned
aldo135 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Love this Rover, not that practical but looks the part! Those Alfas are lovely but I'm scared of the Alfas in my price range!
dollywobbler Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 What?! Oh no. The Ami 6 berline is FAR superior to the estate. So much so that even my wife refuses to entertain the idea of us ever owning a 6 estate. She'd be very happy with a 6 berline.
Micrashed Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Love this Rover, not that practical but looks the part! Those Alfas are lovely but I'm scared of the Alfas in my price range! No, now your just being silly - that Rover is about as attractive as Hayley Cropper in a basque, before the op.You are blind I tell ye. Blind. The saloon is a far sexier beast.
Shep Shepherd Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 ^I have an aversion to reverse-rake rear windows in general.
skattrd Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I'm another that thinks pretty much all cars look better as estates, here's one of mine. Shep Shepherd 1
vulgalour Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Skoda Felicia looks better proportioned as an estate. I'm probably in a class of one with this, but I like the Sierra estate much more than the hatch or saloon.http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQJWA9hSJmC9HddIyS8cUIX5mPjD2S0CiIPbpmKlh_E8c_5MzwOgg
Faker Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I love these, in fact I've a bit of a problem!! And the wife's daily beater. Not an RS4, but an S3. sco14 1
KruJoe Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Enough with the A4s already, Faker! From my Subaru days:
Micrashed Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 These defo look better than their hatchback brethren - I still wouldnt have one though.
Micrashed Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 This is of course TEH SEX and nothing else in estate form comes close. fordperv and KruJoe 2
