Newbie... with Y reg Audi chod.

Hi folks,

Finally got round to signing up to Autoshite, having been a regular browser of the previous forum for a few years now.

I'm mainly interested in cars from the 70s, 80s and early 90s (anything exept the Nissan Serena really) and when I'm not trying to keep the unfortunate speciemen pictured below on the road, I'm amusing myself by taking pictures of the old / abandoned / unusual cars which brighten up the roads of the UK.

Some of you might know me as VAGDave on Flickr... in which case the car below needs no introduction.

Look forward to sharing some quality autoshite.

Dave

Welcome along and much LOLage at anything exept the Nissan Serena really.

I hope you're ready to spill the beans about that, sounds like you've had an experience with them!

Yo Dave! Wilkommen auf der Autoshite, I'm that proper annoying bloke and all round Rover 800 apologist off Flickr too. Good to see you here.

Nice slab of Spandau Ballet you've got there.  It's really odd seeing one of those Audis that looks like I remember them looking when I was growing up.

Welcome aboard, I love these old 80s, such subtle cars but they really drove well. What model is it?

Welcome along Dave.

When I saw the thread title I was worried you were a misinformed facebookist with a 2000 Y-reg Audi thinking that was chod. What a relief it was to see that JRG beauty.

Welcome along, I've seen a lot of your pictures on that there Flickr.

Your Audi is simply devine!!!

Hola Dave. Glad to see you on here.

Dave is the guy who took these pictures of the DAF outside my work:

Looking through his photos I found this picture of me in the Audi:

Looking further I saw that he had been local to me to as he had spotted my mates Corolla and Mr Wendle the camper on the next street up from me.

Then I spotted this one which was outside my house:

Which was the point that I locked all the doors, shut the windows and bought a shotgun.

These should be some excellent spottage from this chap, judging by the photostream in Flikr.

My dad had one of these in that colour pity he had it scrapped because it didn't start after a long period of not getting used.

Welcome Dave, very nice Audi and likewise glad to see the Y is on the correct end of the reg plate!

Cheers - nope, unfortunately my Serena hatred is entirely irrational!  I've never driven one, or even been a passenger in one but I really really hate them...  It think it's their stupid narrow profile and daft low down seating position.  And the fact they're slow and (in my mind anyway) usually grey... Nothing against Nissans in general either - just the Serena...

Ha, yes - sorry about that!  Is Mr Wendle the camper still about btw - not sure I've seen him/it for a while?

Many thanks for the welcome and comments folks, loads more than I expected.

Here's another couple of pics of the Audi, including one of how it looked before I extracted it from under this car port (note the Renault Clio wheel trims...)

That is a fab car. I really miss my old coupe.

Those German style plates are awful, well done for getting rid of those!

I think it looks better on steels and without the front spoiler thing actually, but I am probably incorrect on those points.
