You're all as mad as toast!

We have ace weather for it today, it's gonna be chodtastic.

Please do take care not to spin yer wheels as you enter the field - I'm for the high jump if anyone complains!

Friday 13th proved unlucky for some. After Disco fail, the Golf's cooling fan went bad in Newtown (thankfully putting the heater on kept it cool) then, just as I hit traffic on the M6, it decided to cut out at anything below 1500rpm. Cue lots of three-pedal driving and cursing. It cured itself after a bit thankfully. Philibusmo had interesting times in the Fronterror too. Nice night last night though!

ffs! I get stuck in the 740 at one Shitefest and suddenly I'm Steve, churning up a field in an Iveco camper...

Its true, i did crash my car into my house just as we set off...broken wing mirror and slight (not slight) scuff.

It was a right good drive on the road up to Malham, Volksy was well ripping it in the 205cti with me behind in the Audi, the only reason he didn't get lift off oversteer is probably because of the amount of crap in his boot weighing it down. If he had driven off the road I would probably have followed him.

When we got to Malham Volksy waved out the window at the cars in the field as it was obvious we had arrived, so I turned off into the field as Volksy for some reason drove off into the distance.

I thought, quite a good turn out here. Lots of cars, but is everyone still asleep? I parked up got out of the car and looked around. Nobody here. I sat there for about 20 minutes and Volksy turned up.

We got out and had a look around. It was a bit like 28 days later but an eastern european remake set in the 1980's on a limited budget. I took some photos:

Where's Wally?

Then Volksy looked at the 125P and it has a note on it saying everyone had gone off roading and would be back about 5pm. Bollocks, it was only 2pm. Bit of a wait. Fuck it we thought, cant be arsed waiting that long, lets find a pub, have a pint and make a plan.

Plan turned out to be to go back to the cars take photos of us sat in them and then post them here with us sat in them all without anyone ever knowing we had been there.

Volksy also has some of these including me doing a 'Binhoker' on the bonnet of the Samara.

However then I spotted an Austin Princess coming down the road and a bunch of shiters arrived ceasing our progress of getting photos in everyones cars without the knowing. An enjoyable couple of hours was then spent chatting about shite and scaring Captain Slow with the damage I had done to my car earlier in the day.

Sadly I had to leave before everyone else got back so left just before Joe had to get a cow off his roof. Drive back, not as exciting as got stuck behind a Volvo (a new one, not a shite one), managed t overtake where I shouldn't only to get stuck behind a transit about 30 seconds later. Bumhats.

Good do, if only I could have stayed a bit longer and seen everyone else. Or stayed the night and got twatted.

Mike and I have only just got back to Derbyshireland on account of the M62 being closed for reasons unknown, probably a horrible accident.

Highlights:

Tarmac Sheep (and Tarmacarams) identified as being the cause of potholes

Joe having a cow stuck in/on his roof.

While with a car full of shiters, narrowly avoiding collision with a killer sheep

The smell of my brakes cooking.

FSO Polonez in action

The Pub(e).

Looked out the window this morning and felt for all the tent-dwellers. Hope it's not been too bad for you folks.

Same here - I'm a very very long way from Shitefest so I was just hoping it was different oop north. Dartmoor certainly doesn't look very tent-tastic.

Jesus. I set off at 9.45pm and beat you back by over an hour, including 2 stops to let my car warm up enough for the heater to work properly! M62 appeared to be roadworks as I came down the M606, so I went west, dropped off at the A62, cut through the back of Huddersfield and dropped onto the M1 at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (J37).

I agree with all Angyl's highlights, except I must add the perpetually drunk Red Diesel sheeps (It's OK, they're agricultural vehicles), horses with wax crayons, a quick night drive to the chippy with 2 Volvos (More cooking of brakes) and driving the Polonium210 to my list.

I had a gr9 time as well chaps, big thanks to all involved in organising it.

Too many highlights to list them ... I shall however remember that packing peanuts make good seat padding and can provide reasonable insulation.

A brilliant do. Thanks to all involved! I'm working on an epic weekend catch-up thread so you'll have to wait for that and pics. Sorry not to catch those that turned up while we'd gone Mong-roading. Ended up taking a bit longer than planned!

Home safe here, many thanks to all who made this possible, I had a fantastic time.  I'll post up a few photos later, including some from this morning when the cove was quiet and beautiful.

I'm home.

Thanks to all involved, it was epic.

Congratulated my self on no damage to the disco, then after manouvering the caravan into its resting place, got out of the disco and found the NSF tyre flat,  arse

Good work Zippo!

Will said that tyre looked a bit sloppy! Never mind.

Good work this weekend, Will is raving about it! Just helped him get the rear beam off his Niva, he'll update later.

Finally home which only took about 3.5 hours owing to 2 stops - Tebay for cms206 to check his bank ballance (best services in the UK which also happens to have the best internet signal) for the fuel stop at Todhills. I managed 29.5mpg...YAAAAS!!!! It would have been much higher but I don't think it helped hooning it around Malham what with it's 1 in 5 hills in all directions in and out of the place plus the trip to Settle for chips - fully frieghted, hooning it up 2 mile 1 in 5 hills. Lolz.

Bathed and now with tea and toast, can I just say a massive thanks to KruJoe and his cronies for setting up and arranging what has been the goodest weekend of my year so far. The OVROADING was a fantastic idea and made the weekend so much more than it otherwise would have been. Like I said to someone (I forget who), the whole weekend ended up like going round to your mate's gaffe and having a general all round good time - a bit of a road trip, dinner, chat, faffing with cars and a general good larff. Another big thanks to Joe and his missus for having us that were left round to the house for some food, drinks and a much welcomed heat after assisting with the movement of immobile shite from the field back to the farm.

Sadly I did not have a memory card in my camera so I have no pictures of my own but I think this helped me enjoy it more. There's plenty others anyways. There may even turn up a photo of me wearing my 3rd jumper as a turban. Chest infections + rain + cold dampness do not mix well so I may have been slightly miserable at times. When the jumper became inadequate I switched to a bath towel. Thankfully no snaps of that.

Yeah meant to have a look before I set off back, but didn't ......

Hey there Dan, joined at last? You should post some pics of your tractors, there are plenty of agricultural machinery fetishists in here as well

That'd be me, Dave

And yeah, I agree. It was an ace weekend. Massive thanks to Joe and Will for dealing with all things Malham (including A-framing the epic 'display chod' down to the field).

Well... what a weekend. Good to meet new faces and see old ones again too. My missus hasn't destroyed the house in my absence, the Volvo behaved as well as an occasionally incontinent superannuated Swede can, I had a blezz in a Polonez (awesome!), nobody died and there weren't even many injuries despite the best efforts of everyone. But mostly Joe. Who knew that six into 205 does go?!

Thanks for the hospitality once more, thanks to Joe and his wife for the cooking and bargainous maize snacks, Will for the blezz in the Polonez and 205DT, everyone for putting up with us, to Malham for putting up with us collectively and thanks to the offroad guys - Phil for teaching us Polish and Zippy for his indepth description of gates especially - for an ace time. Pics to follow tomorrow.

Once again - cheers!
