Grundig Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Can't you just stick it in 5th and floor it for 5 mins so it welds itself together? Not that disimilar to how some gear bits are made ( smiley transit 5th gear hub comes to mind) and I'm sure some Honda engine valves are made in 2 bits and joined like that
explosive-cabbage Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I'm well game. Wednesday late afternoon is good for me. I'm doing my trailer test in the morning so am eventually legal to tow mega weights behind small FWD hatchbacks. Will deliver for a tin of Fucking Bisto. But seriously, what is the going rate on shifting shizzle? Cheers! scruff, oldcars, Coprolalia and 1 other 4
KruJoe Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Cool, I'll work on getting it loaded up for you tomorrow. Which trailer do you prefer Will? Mr_B, at you the workshop, do you have something with which to lift this lump off our trailer?

Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 YO! Strictly speaking I dont really have a means of unloading this treasure. However my unit is at a farm and the farmer (who I dont have a lot to do with to be honest, though he always gives us a cheery hello) might be up for helping me with his loader tractor thingy if he's about, I will track him down tomoz and ask if he could help me weds night. If not, maybe we could tow the whole thing round into the compound, tie the 'sawn-off' to something solid and Will could just set off home? As for a transport fee, I think you're gonna have to make a suggestion Will, PM me if you like - I realise its a few hours arsing about for you so I'm not gonna say like £8.99 or something.
explosive-cabbage Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Small trailer please Joe, with no sides and the taller rear ramp - just incase we do have to tie it to something solid and drive off. I'll be home at 5 ish tomorrow to help. If you can drop it onto that yellow engine trolley or one of those round wooden trolleys we can roll if off at the other end. Bollox, a tractor sounds perfect but if we can do it without we possibly can- we will let you know when we are loaded. I'll let you know regarding cost, I don't know the going rates but I don't want to screw you over. Anyone any ideas?
KruJoe Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Will, how much would it cost you in dino-diesel if you were buying it? You could charge M.Boll that much, as your fuel is nearly free. Then you'll get a few beers out of it, or a few laps at Warrington Karts on the way home.Fancy going an hour further south to get a set of wheels for me? Boll, you don't want the gear selector and rods, do you? As Will wants it in the smaller trailer, I'll have to buzz the floor off closer to the pedals so it'll fit in sideways. That does mean there'll be no 007 R11 action however. RobT and skattrd 2
KruJoe Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Last night in the dark me and Will hacked off the floor under the pedals using axes, crow bars and Yorkshire grit. Lacquer Peel 1
DeeJay Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 That does mean there'll be no 007 R11 action however. Could always shove a jockey wheel up his brown eye.
vulgalour Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 No starter either, you've had that I think for the van. Did you ever get it, btw Boll? (Via Vulgalour). That starter ended up going to another Roverist, I don't remember moving house with it or giving it to Boll. I think. I've slept a few times since then. KruJoe 1
oldcars Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Last night in the dark me and Will hacked off the floor under the pedals using axes, crow bars and aussie grit. image.jpgI have amended that for you
KruJoe Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 At lunchtime I left it strapped in and ready to hitch up. This afternoon it has disappeared, so Will must be on his way south with it now.Mr.B - don't let Will forget to give you that NSR light from inside his car. Good news: that front end had only has 91 K on the clocks Louise2cv 1
phil_lihp Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 It's fair to say that that 214 has been well and truly recycled. I think every R8 on this forum must have had something off it at some point. Shep Shepherd and KruJoe 2
hairnet Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 the yoksher bros - insania bol - dont give them twinings - theyll faint

KruJoe Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Believe it or not Alf, these R8's are flipping incredible - I love working on them so much partly because none of the bolts seize up. Of the three I've owned and worked on, not once can I remember one tricky fixing. Even this blue one, which has been sitting in the field since the back end of 2011. I had to take a few brackets and stuff off yesterday to fit it in the trailer, and it's like it was screwed together last week!
alf892 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I've never done much on them apart from the odd service and a couple of rear arm bushes.......couldn't believe how easy rear arm bushes were to do.

Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 Took the engine, box, radiator and steering lock out of the 'sawn off' last night, here it is under the watchful eye of the Maserati.
KruJoe Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Quick work Boll. That radiator is serviceable, but it's not a minter. I bust the little spout off it once when I was fitting a fresh alternator: This fix* lasted for the life of the car, it held pressure well. Mr_Bo11ox, Grundig and saucedoctor 3
alf892 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 You need to work on your towing technique matey......smooth driving is imperative. Snatching may damage the towed vehicle......... explosive-cabbage, Alexg and beko1987 3
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Just won another R8 off the bay, needs parts whch the 'sawn-off' can provide Unfortunately for the seller I am off to the states on Tuesday for at least a week so its not getting collected straight away. I tried to initiaite a conversation about that with the seller before bidding but he told me unconvincingly that he didnt have a phone. Anyway, lets see what happens. jonathan_dyane, Cavcraft, cms206 and 13 others 16
HMC Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Lovely! A late SEI in BRG is just about the ultimate multipoint injected K. That sort-of recaro interior still looks great. Looks like its got later bubble alloys on it.
dollywobbler Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Brummie plate too. Ex-employee perhaps, though the streets of Longbridge used to be full of those.
