Are these things still sought after? Got a chance at an 8 seater, 155k miles, sound but "cosmetically challenged" 2.3, with4 speed.

I've seen the odd example in northwest London before now, presumably owned by Francophile bohemians with lots of children, dogs or things to carry around who either didn't want or couldn't afford a DS Safari or Familiale.

They're still sought-after in Africa, too; I reckon that most of the UK-market examples not claimed by rust ended up over there some years ago.

I can't see any reason why you shouldn't buy it 8)

A mate's mum had one when I was at primary school, I've always wanted one since, just love the style of them. BUY IT.

These are quite sought after as far as I'm aware. I think normal people (non-shiters) like em as well.

Most led hard lives as taxi's plumbers vans with seats, school run hacks back in the day so survival rates must be pretty low,

If you let it walk on by when will you get the chance of another?

definitely one to buy says he, hundreds of miles out of temptations way though I did nearly buy a light blue W reg example in 1991 but it was shagged!!

(Can't help but feel I may have undermined my own argument there, just get it bought)

Nice to see theres still some in the country. I have a 504 pickup with 5 speed diesel. It has surprising economy for a 2.5 tonne truck. Parts can be a bit of a pain as most have gone to Africa. Any more 504 owners on here?

Bought for the princely sum of 500 snotters..............drives really well, no power, but loads of torque. Roof gutters / bottoms of doors are heroically fucked, but it's solid underneath, and interior is very good. Mechanically spot on.Drives like a very comfortable canal barge.............. More pics later

Excellent! I'd love one of these!

I thought that they are worth a lot more than that.  That said, I think that the Africans don't like the diesel ones.  When I had one I was flagged down once by a Nigerian who was desperate to buy it, until he found out that it was a diesel.

For £500 it is a total bargain.

The best source for tech advice for these is the Aussiefrogs forum

These are also brilliant for towing with due to the long wheelbase and heavy engine up the front.

You'd have to be radio NOT to buy it.

£500 is the sort of money these used to fetch in the early 90s - you've got a bargain there

Congrats. Sounds bargainous. Don't see how you can possibly lose at that money.

Most of the bodywork [i.e.doors] are saveable, but the roof gutters are going to be a challenge. Someone's already made a half arsed attempt at them. I might have to grind the lot off [including the gutters] and do some creative bodging. I'll post pics tomorrow, any ideas would be welcome!

What a brilliant buy! What age and mileage is it? Can't wait to see the photos.

That's flaming ace! Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

I don't think I've seen one in Scotland for well over a decade.
