^^ the fairing actually looks like something MZ themselves might have fitted, nice job!

Oddly, I've found that the uglier the fairing often the better it actually works as a fairing rather than an ornament. (eg: 70's BMW RT - ugly but brilliant).

Looks lovely that mate, good effort.

Cheers, although that photo does flatter it somewhat. It rides really well, though, and it means my elderly Hondas won't get salted to death commuting over the winter. There are a few snags to iron out, e.g. inoperative speedo, couple of idiot lights out etc. but overall for the price of a supermarket pushbike I'm well pleased :-D

Done a bit of snagging on my new hack today... fixed the indicator idiot light. I was surprised how much I missed not having that!

I figured out why the speedo didn't work - the drive had seized, and in the contest between stuck metal worm and plastic drive gear there was only going to be one winner:

The weight of the bodged-on Honda tail light (the original was missing) cracked what was left of the original bracket, and it looked shit, so I bought a NOS one in grey for £20 off the bay (when it came the original price sticker said £51!). Bit of black Plastikote and it's good to go!

Bought a non-shite bike a couple of weeks ago didn't think I should post it as its definitely not shite but what the hell, this is the only bike thread on this site

Always wanted one of these, the red one on the left

I bought from a mate in a rather long process that took 2 years but it was worth the wait, I had a go on it a couple of months ago when it was sunny but I have not ridden it again since collecting it, its fucking awesome though with 170bhp and weighing the same as a packet of hob-nobs.

Spent all day today pulling it to bits, giving it a service and fitting a quickshifter, I can't wait till next year when I can actually ride it (the roads have been salted here and I'm not spoiling it), its going to be a long winter, the silver SV is sold and gone so I'm on the lookout for something shite and cheap to ride over winter if there's a break in the weather

Thinking of selling the CZ Custom (as in cafe racer style, not cruiser) I have, as I don't think I'm going to have the time to devote to it, and plans for next year have changed.

Wheeled it out of the garage today - only just though, as the front brake, which is really poor, is stuck partly on, which is odd as it is more effective now than it ever has been.

Starter motor shat itself on the RT - What an earth were ze Germans thinking of when they decided that putting a French starter motor on a German bike was "a good idea"?

I was fooking knackered trying to bump start the sodding thing last night. Guess I either need to brush up on technique or knock the tabs on the head.
