Jim Bell Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 At that money I'm tempted to buy it just to say I'd had one! That's sill cheap man.
garbaldy Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 Yes it probably is cheaper than others but it isn't a perfect example and I'm pretty sure I paid less than that for it, I really should write these things down as I buy that much tat I quickly forget.
ruffgeezer Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Ah man another car I'd love to try. If only I could get some of the other stuff I have on stock sold.
SherpaMog Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I think try it on car and classic mate, around 3.5k and give it a few weeks ignoring wankers, I've sold two on there now to good honest buyers. (Notland rover other oldies)These have big following now.I would love this but funds just won't allow.
bezzabsa Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 here in my area, ANYTHING Land Rover is selling for stoopid amounts.. X plate series 3 petrol £5700....B plate 110 £6000...RR Classic off road for several years £3800. Bung it on Ebilge, BIN of £3000, soon go!!
Exiled_Tat_Gatherer Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 yup - you'll get shot instantly at that price………. I've just joined the porker club - or the funds would've been flowing your way. GLWTS fella.
garbaldy Posted September 10, 2019 Author Posted September 10, 2019 Okay so a little update I've sold the series and also sold the 98 defender 90, this means I'm slimming down the fleet nicely or does it. Yes as you've guessed I've only gone and bought another vehicle , I really don't like landrovers. Came with it's original wheels too. The bad bit which might feed us if we done find any food in the shops after brexit The good bit look at that mileage. One of these days I will refuse to buy a vehicle I'm offered, not sure when that will happen but it will one day. loserone, Tickman, Skizzer and 2 others 5
sal Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 You don't want another early defender 110 to keep it company do you? Full MoT. Or I'm at least giving you the opportunity to finally say no ?
garbaldy Posted September 10, 2019 Author Posted September 10, 2019 /\ I think two landrovers is enough for any man don't you, How much is it then ? Skizzer 1
Kiltox Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 What’s the going rate for a roadworthy defender these days?

twosmoke300 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Actually it could be a really really early one . Was it factory fitted with a 200tdi ?
sal Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Yeah I've got 2 also that's why this one is for sale. Advertised currently at £4000. 17 minutes ago, twosmoke300 said: Not a bloody defender !!!! It is. Registered as Defender same year that Discovery was launched. 17 minutes ago, twosmoke300 said: Actually it could be a really really early one . Was it factory fitted with a 200tdi ? It wasn't. Originally fitted with a 2.5TD engine it was retrofitted with its current 200tdi Disco engine.
twosmoke300 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I was led to believe they were called defender when the 200tdi started to be fitted

All the landrovers in this thread cost less than that together ? the one above was approximately 14 times cheaper than that, I best get my arse in gear and check it over if I can get that sort of coin for it.

See, now I'm the opposite, I tend to pay good/reasonable money for them when I buy, spend thousands more on them in a short time and then struggle to sell them for anything approaching what I originally paid making a huge loss.
garbaldy Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 Okay I've had enough of looking at this pile of shite out the window so would anybody want a project landie or know of anyone else after a project ? I really don't have time to do anything with it at least not till my garage is finished and I keep looking at it and thinking there's my blocks to build it. anonymous user and Jim Bell 2
garbaldy Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 Anyone fancy a nice project then or do I really have to stoop to ebay/gumtree.
somewhatfoolish Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Other than 'shitey old 110', what are its particulars? Not that I really need one as the position of "SWF's green-ovalled moneypit" is already taken, but I have a weakness and am on the rebound from missing out on Asimo's bargainous Inshite.
garbaldy Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 A light lunch then off on another excellent purchase so what could I have agreed to buy now I wonder, not another landie even though looks a mighty fine specimen nope I'm not that stupid after a thread full of them am I. Even with a monster winch well um tempted for sure but I really have no houses to pull down so nope not this. A horse transporter eh nope that would be useful and sensible when the misses sees it as it's got living quarters. What about a lovely old bike then, Nope not this time although she's a sweet old thing though. Jim Bell 1
garbaldy Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 Nope you've guessed it another bloody landie and not any old landie but a fucked one at that. Here's the spare key fucked. Here's the real key also fucked with a bodge wire to deactivate the mobiliser. And it even has a full compliment of dash lights too loserone, yes oui si, DVee8 and 6 others 4 1 4

Yes for the time being it's still here, ive been in talks with someone but they've not exactly pulled the trigger yet, I'll call them and say I've got another interested party and see if that will gee them on.
garbaldy Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 Also just had the first quick look underneath (Yes I know your supposed to Do that before purchase) and it's all colour coded, wierd thing to Do. Is this where the fuel filter is ment to live as looks a bit vulnerable for off roading. Jim Bell and garethj 2
drum Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Yes, that is the place where the fuel filter lives! I had to change mine when I had a TD5 disco after it started leaking, probably due to that daft location. Have a good look at the chassis rails beside the tank. They all rot there. Google the 3 amigos to find out more about your dash lights.

Check Check Check I've had 3 defenders and that's what I did with all of them, they looked fucking great for the new owners though Last one I spent a fortune buying bits to make it into a soft top , only the weather is that unpredictable here that I never actually took the roof off because it took that long to get it back on with all the clips and ropes and stretchy things i'd be piss wet through Squirrel2 1

Found that the abs pump is disconnected. Apparently this lever is a manual diff lock and the abs has to be disconnected when it's used hmm that's a new one on me. Who was it on here that started up an electronics business ? Or did I imagine that. Jim Bell 1
