I prefer upgrading with OEM spec parts, much like what Lord Sterling has done with his Micra. My dad bought a complete interior out of a 600 in the scrapyard and fitted it into his one to replace the cloth seats last weekend. It looks great and like it's always been there.

On my cars it's mainly stuff like radial tyres, seatbelts, radios, higher ratio diffs and so on. One thing I personally couldn't have on my cars is any form of lowered suspension - I know it sometimes can look good if it's not over the top, but I've had sagging springs on old cars before that have caused it to bottom out on ramps and speedbumps and generally be a bit of a pain. I prefer my suspension as the factory intended.

My Express with recently fitted wheels

IM000545-1_zpsb0e1c9dc.jpg

It's been lowered, has(legally)tinted windows,& a full Janspeed system including manifold & sports cat.Inside, there's a Rover Coupe armrest & MGF steering wheel. The ride is not brilliant, but I've never driven it with standard springs so don't know what normal ones are like :P

that Celeste is Beautiful!!

It was quite a looker in it's day - was totally rust free and well looked after during my care.

I sold it to a lad who really wanted it and promised to take good care of it - unfortunately he could have got a part in the Dukes of Hazzrd with his antics...

I'm not exactly sure what happened to it in the end but I understand it ended up in S&I Thompsons yard in Galashiels (Breakers) due to having a broken spring and a bent track rod end or suchlike....

Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity at time to rescue it...

Legend has it that one of the wheels lived on for many years at a service station in St Boswells... as the storage rack for the airline hose...

it seems like you've taken it quite well, i'd have been tempted to track him down and get all Chuck Norris on his ass.... :D

Well, it was his car at the end of the day - I'm sure he'll be kicking himself now that the values and interest for the Celeste have gone up!

This is my Voyager. Tasteful mods or outrageously blingy?

I can't take the praise or the blame for this, it was like it when I bought it.

Just found this on the Bay....

$(KGrHqJ,!qYFHl61W2zjBR6p1eyt!!~~68_49.JI'm undecided, to be honest. Not keen on the paintjob, would prefer a less wishy-washy colour, even if it is "pearl", would look better in black. Preferably matt, out of a rattlecan.

the technical spec is pretty impressive, as is the depreciation this appears to have suffered if the advert is to be believed.

Yours for £30 LARGE.

More Jaguar type goodness, off The Bay....

$T2eC16h,!zgFIdZohL4pBSQ!i9WWq!~~60_49.JCouldn't decide whether this is an "eBay Bargain", it's £25k, and the current owner appears to have sunk at least that into it.

I think I like it, would like it more if it was a coupe, in the old Thundersaloons(?) spec, you know the one I mean.....

Jag number 1 is utterly, utterly crap. The owner should be taken out, shot, skewered, beaten to a pulp and shot again just for the sheer joy of it.

Jag number 2. Take off the stupid NOS badges, fit some slightly more subtle wheels and, well that's it really. The interior is quite neatly done.

Here's mine, which has already been subtly modified with Bilstein shocks and lowered springs plus a few other enginey bits.

Funny how these things polarise opinion, to me the second Jag is nothing special and looks very dated but the first one is gorgeous, maybe its the colour as I tend to love white/off white on most cars but it really does look stunning.

I actually like the colour of the first Jag too but sadly nothing else appeals to my taste gene.

I  am tempted to start growling about slammed Mercs as well....but hey its  the weekend and I have growled enough this week at work.   So I will tack on a positive and say whilst the black  Jag is a bit shit it does  at least  remind me of  Steed's XJ  coupe in the New Avengers and I loved that nearly as much as Purdy's panty  line.....

I find it frankly laughable that these chavs think they know more about car design than a qualified car designer. Do they have any idea how competitive it is to be a car designer? Pretty much the same as being a world class footballer. These are people who know what cars should look like through sheer experience and education, even the mass produced tin boxes have logic and principles built in to them. So then, bring a hormonally challenged 17 year old in to the mix who think he knows better than a qualified car designer and what do you get? A worthless twenty year old Nova/Renault5/Fiesta with clear plastic rear light clusters, big wheels, a respray in a crap color, and a possible 1.6 engine plumbed in even tho DVLA think it's a 1 litre. I can't even imagine the crash test rating of a gull winged Corsa, and the last car I would ever buy would be some death trap constructed by a moron with a tool kit and 3 brain cells. Give me a clean standard car every time, as designed by someone who knows their business, every time.

I also wouldn't give the steam off my piss for that Renault 5 in previous post, that spray job must hold a multitude of horrors. 3.5 k for that? Laughable.
