I've always thought 'Talbot Express' to be an oxymoron. How fast is that?

Time for some more spots from the Lake District:

20200908_125904(0).thumb.jpg.d9acd7bd5fd4258c51afd1642ff9c5d8.jpg

Starting with a Morris Minor 1000. Look how tiny it is compared to the C1!

20200912_130745.thumb.jpg.bc6e53a20be87db7ffbb4bac13de5651.jpg

A Jaaaaaaag in a Rover 100 colour

20200912_162322.thumb.jpg.613d4518a556f602f27a12945a0660c7.jpg

A pretty late MG ZR

20200912_162315.thumb.jpg.ae6ff079b519b6f6fdfec7c254c10524.jpg

A buggered bug. I love how the rear wings are inside the car. Nice touch

20200912_162556.thumb.jpg.946478a13c2de11553e81a8fde31ef0c.jpg

A Type 2 without headlamps. Digging the 70s alloys tho

20200912_120213.thumb.jpg.31288e36d7b9a745c02bf03a0c6712e9.jpg

A Figaro in typically Figaro green

20200912_162418.thumb.jpg.2e93fc91e637a425ed150eb7b4be30c3.jpg

A pretty late MG Midget. I believe all of the last run was in this black.

20200909_171744.thumb.jpg.050d092068aaaba07930eabdd0e25337.jpg

An XR2 thats so famous it has its own Facebook page. Actually got to briefly speak to the proud owner too!

20200910_172853.thumb.jpg.1c33cca3f5f389cd31dc9683dcdc1277.jpg

And finally, some proper shite. A 1986 Toyota Corolla Executive - one of TWO still on the road!

Went out for a drive yesterday and stopped at this pub in the Forest. There was a wedding going on. How's this for a wedding car?

If I keep spotting stuff at this pace I'll have to stop calling myself a, lazy spotter.

Ovlov 300 series...

20200913_145151.thumb.jpg.b25d8a70907ecd94f7729b4bf4831ab2.jpg

And a pensioner-tastic Nippa.

Scrapyard spotting time - hoorah!

This all comes from a place near Millom which is near Barrow-In-Furness. See? I can do tourism!

20200913_125335.thumb.jpg.b36dbeb07210e0d5e11f9f4181725962.jpg

Might as well start with a pre-facelift Corsa B GLS without wheels.

20200913_125305.thumb.jpg.4702f469d475b08d2817de91fe5af4e7.jpg

...Then moving on to an old-ass Land Rover which by law every scrappy needs.

20200913_130538.thumb.jpg.0567de68b5eca3408db848ac6467bd4f.jpg

Or if you want a little more class with your rusting pile of shite, how about an original Range Rover?

20200913_125339.thumb.jpg.89396c8cd117e2b85a819ec4a014c4db.jpg

Executive Shite can be had with this 1993 Rover 820

20200913_130516.thumb.jpg.7918760c8d5bfd2dbd6de85f10d83694.jpg

Or a 1995 Ford Maverick

20200913_125238.thumb.jpg.e17ba8e7637f2816f3567a5da99f2f88.jpg

20200913_125235.thumb.jpg.c154ce7c31bb805b34c04363a4e8747c.jpg

A pair of F reg Escrots were also in there. Shame as the estate in particular looks pretty solid

20200913_125302.thumb.jpg.fe4eaf7852e5a934d3055104aa453a27.jpg

Almost arrived at peak shite with this photo. A 1995 205 Inca D, a Rover 2200SC and a hiding Renner 19. Also...

20200913_125231.thumb.jpg.9925a9d9117b4dad4cb77f95ee574c28.jpg

TWO ROTTING CORPSES OF MK2 ESCORTS!!!

20200913_125247.thumb.jpg.5a10407eb39a7fcc1eee46b890ac62a2.jpg

And we finish off with an Anglia in a similar condition.

What. A. Place.

I think "painted" is probably too strong a word. Some colour has been placed in rough proximity to it.

I think that might have appeared in the EBay Tat thread at some point.  Those rear wheels and the awful paint ring a bell.

Had a trip down to Dorset for lunch on Friday, managed to avoid all the feckin VW  vans and parked opposite this little stunner in Lymington on the way home

Just the ticket for loading up on flatpack, at everyone's favourite Swedish baffling retail ordeal... facelifted Citroen XM VSX estate.

What a beauty. Ten years ago to the day, I was rocking one of these myself... Bought expressly for a house move, it was no stranger to this very same car park, loading up with wardrobes on the roof rails and a fridge freezer in the back... This one's much less scabby than mine, mind.

Going by the forward position of the wide repeater, either that's an import from Italy, or it's had wings salvaged from an Italian donor.

Well, it is a left hooker. I thought something looked odd, but couldn’t put my finger on it. I sort of assumed it was a US marker light, but then it would be rectangular and have one at the back. I never knew Italian market cars had to have repeaters that early.

On the way back from saabnut on Sunday this was the only spot worth taking

a crap photo of a D reg LT. Shite weather and all.

The Italians had indicator repeaters on front wings decades before it became a mandatory requirement across Europe round about 1985. The Italians were actually quite logical in having the repeater lights placed as far forward as possible, whereas the Euro regs put it near the front doors.

This guy has a few yank motors, he has a driveway/compound on the left side as you head out of town towards Allenheads/Rockhope.
