I went for a couple of pints tonight, home after about an hour and a half.....some how I seem to have aquired a Citreon Picasso, Pez job on an X plate...has a duff CV and clutch slip.....should I save it or scrap it for whatever I can get??

Don't worry, I bought one when I was sober once. I wish I'd been pissed though, far better excuse!

I'd eBay it, they do seem very popular and it's exactly the sort of car some Jeremy Kyle fodder bint will pester her tattooed, vest wearing neanderthal husband to buy her and do it up.

Three days later you'll see it parked across three disabled bays in Aldi pissing out oil, covered in dents, pound shop wheeltrims and crayoned interior as the lovely lady in question is inside buying 88 cans of Stella for her bloke as a thankyou. Obviously she'll have to hide a couple of cans to dull the pain in the morning as he's kicked fuck out of her for Christmas, but he's a good bloke and he's always sorry afterwards.

Christ man, that's grim. Waking up the morning after and realising I bought a picasso when pissed would be enough to put me off the bottle for good!

Fix it and plop a year's ticket on it. You'll sell it no issue.

Hmmm.....best of to evil bay to get an idea on the prices of parts then !!! I wouldn't mind but I only had three pints

I remember a complete set of original 1980's A-team figures arrived in the post and it was only when I checked my ebay that I realised I'd done it at 4am in the morning when I completely bladdered.

/\/\ Trigger, I was sober and on my first pint....it just seemed like a good idea at the time  I'm just of to collect it in about 15 minutes.

If its half decent and Mot-able get it on ebay! if its shite - just ran it through cartakeback.. If you can get it to fife Grays are offering £245 for it which is better than a poke in the eye

I could always meet you at the scrappy and run you back to Edinburgh in time for the bus home if you need :)

My brother will be the owner of a Picasso with a full electric ragtop soon, he's paid the deposit on it and everything. After having a test drive, he loved it... but then he always was a bit of a lost cause.

Picassos sell well privately, and seem to be one of the most reliable French cars, not that that's saying much...they last a lot better than Scenics anyway.

I ragged one right across germany in the snow once, it had a decent stereo and handled the snow quite well, can't remember anything else about it TBH. Often thought an HDi one would make a good daily with half-decent occasional A-frame dragging skills despite its Xsara/306 DNA.

Graham's bought a PICASSO? Is this as well as the Saxo or in place of it?

The worst Drunk purchase was so bad that neither the seller nor myself could remember the deal we had done in the morning, unfortunately the designated driver for the evening remembered and I bought the car. Anybody want to buy a spares/repair 1975 BMW 2500 Auto?

About the only BMW I would ever buy... but no, not right now thanks!

Well I've had a look at it yesterday and can confirm that the clutch is on it's way out, also the engine management light is on, could that be related to a borked clutch? or is it likely to be something else? CV joint doesn't seem too bad, might just whap it in for the test next week when they all reopen, if it passes I'll sort the clucth etc...if it fails badly I'll just scrap the fecker, does anyone know if they are easy to change the clutch in without a lift?

Still sell quite a few cheaper Picasso's ( sorry I am a car trader) they still make about £800 if tidy. A clutch change is not to bad on a 1.6 I think a garage says about 4 hours .

Management light being on is in itself a failure these days.very small drill through the dash to kill the bulb ;)

Don't they check the light still comes on and extinguishes?

Posted

Management light on is NOT a failure. ABS, ESP and airbag are, but not the MIL.

Sweet, that's one less random warning light for me to worry about
