I could spend hours rummaging about in there, what a brilliant old-school scrapyard. 8)

Ain't got facebook so can't see nothing.

Try this link Lordship, you shouldn't have to be a member to view the pics (well I just logged out and tried and it worked for me) :)

I'm not a member of Facebook but can see them. Just wanted to make it clear that I don't do Facebook or Twitter or anything similar for that matter.

Wow! where is this garland of automotive excellence exactly? Is it a working yard? Will they sell stuff?

Ironically Dave, the last time I boiught something from there was a shade over 20 years ago. It was the front corner and part of the slam panel that I chopped off a MKIV Cortina that was upside down ad half submerged in a marsh.

Did the job though.

I believe they had a bit of a clear out maybe 15 years ago and a lot of the chod may have gone, but there's so much of it I'm sure it'll be a feature for many years to come.

Really don't know how they still operate in these times of ecologically responsible disposal but there you go.

Top of Whitfield Road near the QM hospital.

The first yard is in Dunfermline, the one I'm about to post next is in Perthshire.

I meant the Perthshire one...where is it? is it open for general business? had a look at some of your pics on facebook! I think I need to go have a root around that. Amazing they've still got the likes of the VW splitty given even when they've been underwater for years they still sell for a fortune on ebay.

Amazing to see another R18 diesel as well.... I take it Nisfan will be grabbing some bits? I'd love to save some of the shitters in there, shame the likes of the W reg Polonez look too far gone.

He got a wing for a fiver and we'll probably be going back for more from that orange estate soon. It's someones garden and not actually a scrapyard though stuff is for sale..

This place is off the scale. words cannot describe how epic it is, a hoarders paradise.

There was me thinking i would never see another R18 again then see two in the same bloody place!

I now really, really, really, really, really, really want a 305,604 or 505 but there rare as a rare thing as a lot went to africa.

Most of the stuff is past it, the floor was hanging out that red R18 estate.

That place is ace. I would love to take a wander round it. I used to love going to scrappies just for the sake of it, to see what they had. I remember a friend of mine getting seats from a Dolomite for a Beetle.

Holy cow! :o:o

Someone should get all those Minis and VW campers and Beetles out of there and sell em for mega profits.

I think trying to get any of them for cheap would be the main flaw in your plan, Also who gives a fuck about those cars when there's so much more desirable tat which could still be saved. Personally I'd take the white Riva and the Proton.

Hmmm...

Well.

If I *COULD*, I'd save the Peugeots. Especially the 504 estates.

And defo the pair of older Skodas.

However, this is not possible.

And, yet more ballsed up looking comedy VWs are not required in my road life.

I'd like to buy the Sambas for our resident Samba dude and force him to repair them.

That second yard is incredible. I think 1991 wants its salvage back.

It has several 305 GTXs, man - they could come in handy.

Its great to see all that rare shiz sat there, it looks flippin sweet. But as you say, the only possible way much of that stuff can still be sat there despite being ‘for sale’ is if the prices are even less realistic than Purple Helmet. That split-screen VW flatbed truck thing must be worth serious coin! he can’t fail to have had plenty of folk coming along wanting to buy it.

The NSU Prinz was on CarandClassic not too long ago, I seem to recall it was ‘price on application’ which is never an encouraging sign, specially for a car with a massive bramble bush growing inside it.

How could anyone doubt there really is a God after seeing those pictures? 8)

Holy Shite Holy Shite! How come that place hasnt appeard in pc mags rust in piece or some other mags as a news story??? If that is someones back door, how the hell did they get all those cars in there? Wish i could have a day or 6 wandering around there!

Posted

Believe me, the VWs are the last choice for me personally out of that lot but I just meant that there could be some profit in them. I recon that knackered splitty pick-up could fetch £2500 off some knobber on a good day.

Posted

If I could, choice between the subaru sumo (they are ace) a renault 4 or pug 504. most of them look to have been there so long that they are well past the point of no return though.

Probably the only ones financially worth saving would be the VWs, although even in such shite condition I bet those pug 504 estates would still find a home in Africa.

Blimey, that is an amazing place (and in case anyone else is wondering, like I was, what all the fuss is about the photos aren't all on AS - you have to click on the link to the Facebook site which is accessible by non-members fortunately). Second only to that epic Irish scrapyard a year or so back. Various Talbots, Citroen CX, old Fiats, FSO, Yugo, 305s, 504s, it only needs a Tagora and it would top the Irish place.

Volksangyl will get really excited about the Princess in there as a source for his slightly mangled example - the bonnet looks fine from a distance.

It's true, I was eyeing up the Princess for the bonnet, front sidelight/indicator unit, bumpers and the towbar. It probably won't have the steering wheel I want, being a very late Princess. I'm also super interested in that FSO, particularly the wheel trims.

I'm not on the book of face either, any mk4/5 cortinas there?
