Zelandeth Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 My current rental wheels on holiday. 2018 Nissan Pathfinder SL V6. Surprisingly nice actually! Really struggling to criticise it beyond "because it's an SUV" and wishing I could set it so the damn horn didn't sound every time you lock the thing... it's downright embarrassing when you get back to the resort late. Magnificent Rustbucket 1
PhilA Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Close all the doors, hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob down together until the indicators flash a few times. That should shut it up. Repeat to re-enable. Phil

Repeat to re-enable. PhilThanks for that! Will try that in the morning. Really is my only gripe with it aside from the sheer size of the thing...but we specifically wanted a 7-seater and they couldn't guarantee that in any other form factor. It's a comfy old bus anyhow.
PhilA Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 You'll only get 7 seats in "big SUV" or van here these days. </thread derailment>
Noel Tidybeard Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Was that alright? It took several attempts just to get that one! Something to do with lack of focus..... yeah you get a much better idea of what lights up without the flash lighting it up
Talbot Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 much brightness^^^ Standard comedy Citroen CX warning lamps. Generally a minimum of 2 illuminated at any given time. If there are none lit, the filaments have failed.

Maybe that's an omen.
Zelandeth Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 You'll only get 7 seats in "big SUV" or van here these days. </thread derailment>Thanks for the tip... I'm no longer waking everyone up by locking the thing now! Also National couldn't guarantee a 7-seater minivan...Large SUV was the only thing they'd guarantee we'd have 7-seats in - which we've needed all of for the last couple of days! It's coped admirably with carting 7 adults around... I'm well impressed...much as I might have wanted to hate it! PhilA 1
ProgRocker Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Not exactly night time as such: 5.20pm last Tuesday when I last used my car. Photo taken after I put it into the garage. I'll hit 98k once I drive off the estate tomorrow. The car engine barely gets warm from my pad to my workplace and vice versa. Not good for a diesel is it?! FakeConcern and Magnificent Rustbucket 2

Zelandeth Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Had forgotten how .uch the background grid shows up with the dash lighting on with the Astra...
Talbot Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 The car engine barely gets warm from my pad to my workplace and vice versa. Not good for a diesel is it?! Nope. Not ideal for a petrol either. Buy an electric car! Or cycle. ProgRocker 1
ProgRocker Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Buy an electric car! Or cycle. I've done with cycling. Electric car would be nice if I could afford one but impractical. I couldn't charge it up at home as I live in an upper floor flat.
Squire_Dawson Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Go on, have a guess. Zero pounds prize for the winner. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk What's the top left -7 0 +7 gauge mean?

PhilA Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Have you told the Government about this problem? They think we all should have electric cars in 20 years time.I was late to work because:The circuit breaker tripped at 1amThe extension cord caught fireLandlady pulled the plug out to vacuum the hallwayI ran out of 50p's for the meter and nowhere was open to make change from a tenBattery decided it was full but only had 2.3 miles until it went dead and stopped, refusing to move an inch in 4 lanes of traffic (but still had enough power to run the hazard lights for 8 hours) (Delete as applicable) Lacquer Peel 1
ProgRocker Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Have you told the Government about this problem? They think we all should have electric cars in 20 years time.Good idea. I ought to reel off an email to my MP about it. Makes a change from writing to them about the high cost of housing.
Zelandeth Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Here's my latest contribution. 1973 AC Model 70. Given how crude the setup is I'm surprised how effectively the speedometer is lit to be honest. It's far from even, but is perfectly legible. LightBulbFun, bolognasal spray, Magnificent Rustbucket and 2 others 5
Guest Hooli Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 What's the top left -7 0 +7 gauge mean? Boooooooost! or manifold pressure. When running off boost it'll have intake vacuum so read below zero, on boost is positive numbers.
willswitchengage Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Charade G102. Everything you need, nothing you don't. The dials are very small though and the minor gridlines are distracting. A healthy 1.3 that spins to 7000 rpm. Phwoar. Lacquer Peel, uk_senator, Zelandeth and 2 others 5
captain_70s Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 The Acclaim now features an illuminated radio. Such luxury. ProgRocker, Cardinal Wolseley, Magnificent Rustbucket and 11 others 14
Zelandeth Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 That's an interesting colour used in the Acclaim. Almost cyan rather than green. Looks nice. Here's my latest addition - camera has made it look brighter than it is (likewise the ambient light). I'll try to get a better one when it's fully dark some evening.
