These popped up on the Princess owners Facebook group - hopefully the owners of the images don't mind me sharing them on here.  Doesn't look like either of them are on the list yet.

I have had zero time to do anything with this lately, sorry about that folks.  Hopefully I get some seasonal time free to go through these latest finds properly and update the existing content.  I still appreciate folks taking the time to put their finds in here.

Austin 1800 makes sense for an earlier car like that, the first ones were 18-22 rather than Princess and badged Austin, Morris, or Wolseley.  Earlier cars tend to shop up as Leyland Cars, Austin, Morris, or Woleseley, later ones tend to show up as Austin Morris, Austin-Morris.  Modern systems tend to list all variants as Rovers, which they never were.

That's a great photograph too, just the sort of thing I love to see.

When the DVLA system required you to enter the manufacturers name it was hard to look up 1970s-80s Minis as they would be listed British Leyland, Leyland, Leyland Cars, Austin, Morris, Austin Morris, Austin-Rover or Mini, & possibly one or two other names.

As promised ages ago, a photo of A468KEX (you'll just have to trust me on that as the plate isn't visible) in special "high quality scan of a low quality image" format.

God, I completely forgot about that, what an absolute arse ache that was with BL stuff..

I just realised that this one is a bit odd.  As far as I can remember, this is the only 'Rover' registered wedge on the Wedgister.  I've got some time off coming up at the end of this month so I'm hoping to spend a couple of days getting this caught up properly.

Oh, your trying to compile a list of them? My Princess was HJP10V IIRC (still got the log book somewhere), a Java green 1700HL, I think I binned it in 91/92 (after timing belt failure). I cant for the life of me remember my Ambassadors plate now.. None of it, I`ve got a feeling it was 82, but dont quote me..

There was both a Princess & an Ambassador in East Barnet till the late noughties (as well as a white Lancia Dedra), I suspect they all belonged to the same bloke, but then, poof, they vanished. Ones still on 2008 Streetview:

I noticed this one on streetview a couple of years ago, alas it was gone when I eagerly went to find it (& no one answered when I knocked).

I would not read too much into it

if you stick it into the actual DVLA checker it comes back as an Austin

for whatever reason a lot of BMC to BL vehicles show up as ROVER in the MOT checker

even the The Auotoshite big yellow Triaxle Leyland Olympian of win (RIP) amusingly shows up as a ROVER in the MOT checker

Any idea what the all the tape is for? Covering rust holes or holding the doors on?

I cant say, as I never spoke to the owner. The tape on the tops of the doors were likely to cover a fairly common rust spot, mine was going there back in the early 90`s, the lower front door tape seems to be covering damage, the C-Pillar tape is just covering the original (probably cracked) vinyl, the A-Pillar tape is probably covering a bloody great hole, the vertical line between the front door & wing is a bit of a mystery, may be for aerodynamics..

I was absolutely gutted when I went & it wasn't there.. I looked like the little boy at the end of The Snowman, when all there was left was a carrot, a scarf & a few bits of coal..

Wow, that looks like an early one - is that JPU33N just visible on the plate?

Bronze Morris 1800, registered in March '75? Quite possibly a launch car. Top spottage!

That is the correct number plate, registered 25-3-1975. Five owners before the last one, who acquired it on 14-5-1981.
Its not actually coming up as scrapped, or having changed hands, but, that may mean nothing.

According to my 1978 Parkers, the Princess (under Leyland, not Morris) was launched in October 75, which would make this one rather special. Even more gutting that its gone then..

As you can see from these pics, it was/is hanging quite badly (apart from the arches, which look strangely fantastic), I just wish I`d got to see it in person..
