Of course, if @Datsuncog would rather his Nemesis photo of yore to be deleted on an open forum now we've had our merriment, I will do so

Why? Give it a few years and Nemesis Man could be me...

I really appreciate all your Tat Friday efforts, sorting out cars and pictures, sending tat all over the place at no profit - but it doesn't half mess with my head that your sorting mat runs 10-18 and then 1-9!

So then - second verse, same as the first...

A Realtoy BMW M3, and a no-name (suspected Motormax) Z3.

Realtoy BMW X5 and Mercedes M-Class, in pretty good nick.

Mercedes C-Class and Audi A8, again by Realtoy (and they are pretty decent models, in fairness).

Realtoy Crown Vic police cruiser, Welly Mustang GT with... something... inside of it, 1/72 scale Hongwell VW Golf in a right old state.

Possible candidate for @Burnside's scrappy in miniature?

Moving onwards, a no-name (but nicely done) Mitsubishi Shogun, and a Welly Mercedes G-Wagen:

More Welly, in the form of a VW T4, plus a Realtoy Ford Galaxie with poptastic graphics.

Welly Toyota airport truck with the steps still intact, and a no-name piratical rip-off of the Matchbox Mercedes TV Van.

And very lastly for this week, an Aussie-spec Ford Windstar commercial, and a Ford Explorer - both by Realtoy.

Phew! That's it!

I'm off for a little lie- down...

Thanks for thinking of me @Datsuncog although the Doctor has quite rightly claimed first dibs, plus I've just spent £25 on miniature related tat buying which I shouldn't have. As I've got my 1:1 scale car insurance renewal to pay for and it's also due a service. So I'm doing my best to avoid buying anything for a while!

Although if you come across a 1/72 Caramara Fiat Punto or Peugeot 206 on your travels, I'd be interested.

Also if anyone finds a cheap 1:43 Majorette Fiat Punto MK2 3dr. I'm looking out for one, so I can make into a Van version. Cheers.

My local charity shop having started putting nicer diecasts into a display counter with a price tag on string. On some I think they're being a touch optimistic, but they have what looks like a tidy early-ish Superfast Beetle at £4 if anyone here is interested?

If I didn't already have that  one /\ then I'd buy it for myself. Going back down there later this morning if anyone wants me to grab it for them. I might get one or two others they had as well.

Slowly making progress on the Hiace:

image.thumb.jpeg.e2968e001fe578a00cf27daa94fdcfee.jpeg

Got some Austin-Rover Sandalwood Beige onto it last weekend, just given it a quick wet sanding and it's now awaiting a final coat or two.

Might make the most of the decent weather this long weekend to start one or two others.

There are lots of variations  - that one has the unusual plate on the front. There are two types of rear bumper too.

Looks a nice one but with postage too much for me.

I'd have bought it if I'd found it though!

Not sure but it's quite big - just about to pop back in but won't be staying long...

Not 1/18 then, which is what I was hoping for.  Thank you for doing that!

No worries. I made a purchase which I shall reveal later!

1/24 according to the interwebz.

BTW is this the same sort of truck that Chief Brody drives in Jaws?

Oh I though Jada range was 1/32

Sorry for the pic heavy post but I've been keeping my eyes open for one of these for years since Asda started stocking them. Only other place I've seen one was Hamley's for £££

It's PROPER

Ah, that's my one - I took a photo of it for reference.

The one in the shop had what looked like a Monte Carlo Rally plate on the front. I didn't get it, but I did purchase these for myself:

IMG_6818.thumb.JPG.ab65705679944aa5547e1d1e8784daf2.JPG

Yes, this photo was taken in the car park just after I'd bought them. It seemed appropriate as I've seen many good things in this place over the years, indeed today I pulled-in and there was a N-reg FE Victor estate.

The Corgi Juniors Beetle is quite tidy, it has a flower sticker on the LH door and on the roof, the latter covering up a hole where I presume a light fits for a police version? It was cheaper than the Superfast Beetle.

The HW Mazda has "Jacob's Magical Car" written in marker pen on the roof. What power it possesses I don't yet know......

IMG_6820.thumb.JPG.b5b77d480906ec6a18d4115355186b9c.JPG

IMG_6821.thumb.JPG.f631433fddffe5c446accd9469bdefee.JPG

I thought the Volvo was a colour variation of the Corgi version I already had, but as a bonus it turned out to be a Majorette. Quick compare and contrast above,  both sit a bit high, but the Majorette probably edges it.

IMG_6819.thumb.JPG.8f8431c3eb8b62b1a7b86a555465f456.JPG

Copper TR7 and X1/9 made for a good pair, as low-ish budget '70s sportcars and as represented by Corgi both suffering with wheels which always seemed slightly too large to me. Mysteriously the Triumph was £1.50, but the Fiat was in the £1 each, three for £2 section. The latter mildly annoying for using two different coloured plastic mouldings, giving it a red front bumper and black rear (which is part of the base). I've had the red TR7 since I was young, the new one has survived better and I prefer its black pumpers and base.

Celica by Majorette, not one of ther best efforts. The 'new' red one is in slightly better condition than the white version I bought at a boot sale in France. Has a few differences like orange not red interior, smoked glass and pop-up lights - they're moulded-in on the white one, but I can't see any other changes on the bodyshell and the baseplates look similar.

Had a run over to Stockton today to see my old mate's model shop. As I reported last year, Anth, who ran TigerTaz models sadly passed away last year and I had heard that a couple of guys had bought the shop and re-opened recently.

Unfortunately the new management seem to more into the train side of things, but the guy there said he still has a quite a  bit of Anth's old diecast stock to go through, and can get hold of new Corgi stuff and can do a bit less than RRP on them, so that will come in handy as there are still a few 2021/22 Vanguards I have yet to order.

Saying that, there was still a fair bit of kit to pick over, including a fair few buses (EFE and the like, all really clean and £5 each or 5 for the price of 4 on the unboxed stuff).  I have a bit of a thing for dealer models, having picked up a stack of Opel dealer stuff last year at silly cheap prices, and these were unusual enough to pique my interest,

IMG_20210529_181447.thumb.jpg.0625311433ee32b0e3413378f7a3e122.jpg

A 2010 dealer model of the Skoda Yeti. I have to admit the Yeti isn't 100% my cup of tea, ( an Octavia or Fabia vRS would have really floated my boat!),  but the Matchbox Superfast style packaging meant I wasn't leaving without this one!

IMG_20210529_180800.thumb.jpg.9e61bb1d215e27956d56fefa216e566d.jpg

Sadly the blister is a bit mullered through storage,

IMG_20210529_180924.thumb.jpg.2a2ba2f50589fa3f7f8c350b046285b3.jpg

The card opens out to reveal some marketing bumf,

IMG_20210529_180959.thumb.jpg.aefa716119ab28cf68c6f4085255f045.jpg

The model itself is a decent one. Like most Skoda dealer models of recent years, it's made by Abbrex, and has all the detail you'd expect of a fairly recent model,

IMG_20210529_181042.thumb.jpg.dcd9c0fab3526761e756fdfd4c563701.jpg

Including pretty good dashboard detail,

IMG_20210529_181108.thumb.jpg.661cfac5f5552f79390cc57f73c0def8.jpg

IMG_20210529_181123.thumb.jpg.88adc4f43b27febb7a06d10e18eb2a0f.jpg

IMG_20210529_181155.thumb.jpg.2a34549dfe555ade939b187440beeb37.jpg

As said, the subject matter might not appeal to all, but a nice unusual find, I've never found a Skoda model in that packaging before.

Next, one for the 90s French car pervs among us...

IMG_20210529_181613.thumb.jpg.002c08cf1985b853bc931e9d0448407f.jpg

Norev went to town a bit on this one!

IMG_20210529_181650.thumb.jpg.38c938a2eaea55894ab6da6086673b16.jpg

As can be seen, it's a MK1 Laguna wagon, on a nice dealer showroom-type display.

IMG_20210529_181734.thumb.jpg.458a1d1d147aed215e25e5c482a7dbd1.jpg

The model really is something special, especially for something dating from the '90s. The, erm, interesting styling of the estate is captured perfectly. The El- Posho RXE spec wheels are also spot on.

IMG_20210529_181824.thumb.jpg.4eaf3dbe067261d3deef173e8edaf625.jpg

Not often seen on a 1/43 scale car, the bonnet opens on this one, revealing a fair bit of engine detail,

IMG_20210529_181840.thumb.jpg.b9f613a08c89194a408640a413571d11.jpg

The doors also open. I love Norev Renault models of this period, with the wacky '90s seat materials recreated.

IMG_20210529_181943.thumb.jpg.b7bc36ee01fe19cf9ecc57cc04d9a847.jpg

IMG_20210529_182110.thumb.jpg.6963d9c5fb0b188bb902c06f6a24112e.jpg

Even the rear end has a surprise, as the top half of the split tailgate flips up, revealing the two optional extra seats. Note the rear heating elements on the rear side windows, like on the real thing.  A fantastic model, this one.

IMG_20210529_185717.thumb.jpg.daa14f04fbf5ece1a2001b501ce18909.jpg

No prices were on either so the guy said a tenner for the pair, "to clear them out of the shop". I reckon I had a result anyway...

That dealer Skoda packaging is excellent - did he have anymore?  The Laguna is pretty smart too!

Sadly the Yeti was the only one there, I've never seen anything like it before. All the Skoda dealer models I've seen have been on the standard perspex box & plinth with branded cardboard outer.

The Main Stealer Laguna is a worthy purchase at that money. I had one, as did @bunglebus and it sold on ok just loose and a bit knocked about. They pushed the boat out on those seats and the matching door cards especially

Time to tease you again with some of my projects!  These are what I've drilled today and put in the stripping bath...

207577693_RR056.thumb.jpg.9a66cb42cc2e5cfb736734ad3b865958.jpg

L-R: Austin A40 Devon commercial; Ford E83W commercial; Hillman Hunter; E-Type Jag; XJ6.  The two vans will go into the Family collection, as seen int the Family Pics thread.  The Hunter will also go into that fleet, on the Peripheral shelf, to represent the brand-new Hunter driven from Edinburgh to Zambia by some friends I met in Cyprus.  The two Jags are going in the Film/TV fleet: the E-type chased David Niven in the first Casino Royale (and will entail buying a tin of lemon yellow) and the XJ will become silver, as in Arfur Daley's car in Minder.

The Hunter is going to need a touch of P38 to the roof.  I need to buy some more, because I've got another one needing filler...

2098872544_RR057.thumb.jpg.62513f65e3d33ee56a4de9375079d43c.jpg

Dinky Standard Atlas minibus.  When I were nobbut a saucepan we had one, for about a week; a plain van in pale blue.  Notice, however, that Dinky saw fit to frame the minibus windows with a pronounced ledge, all the way round.  So this happened...

1414709397_RR058.thumb.jpg.e5a2a9bce35297c52056919b290b4b1e.jpg

The not-a-Dremel came out and I've burred the frames away.  Now I need some filler to fill in the windows.  Bit of rubbing down, bit more primer, and it'll be ready for some pale blue.  Unfortunately, and unusually for me, I don't remember the number plate, and I have no pics of the van so this is all from memory.

Sold-on the second one 1/32 as shape is a bit awkward

Evening all - fear not, I haven't been ignoring the PMs and messages because I've done a runner with all the diecast; just took a bit of a break today as I think yesterday might have been a bit more exciting than anticipated...

Will go through the lists of requests etc tomorrow and advise on model availabilities, and also current tat-box contents/ total, where requested!
