I'm very much on in the market for the former, also.

Today’s haul, 20p each I paid. The older stuff I bought mainly for the spares and tyres off them.

Bit of advice required here folks. Does anyone know the weight limit for a Superkings K-36 transporter? Reckon we could chance a quick journey up the 303 with a Siku Reisebus on board? Yes? Lovely jubbly!

A couple of ratchet straps/elastic bands and you'll be golden.

Here's a few bits from this morning I didn't buy: Hand painted Michen Man in his car

and one of several Esso Figures in various sizes the same seller had. I was really taken with these, especially this cast money box

OMG Barn find 1/18 and 1/20 models for sale or swaps!
Id forgotten I’d put these in the shed because I’ve run out of space in my onl6 cabinet, don’t know if any interest , I’d prefer to swap for 70’s 80’s Corgis or random 1/43 ish French shite .

It’s a 1/20 Burago and weighs a ton, for some reason. In very good condition with no bits missing, no chips or scratches- oh, and no box either, I bin them as soon as I get them home.

Here's the things I did buy - it was a bit nippy out today, and I was trying to be a bit more restrained after last week's OMG THE BOOT SALE IS OPEN madness. I walked away from quite a few things I felt were overpriced or I didn't really need, a couple of which I considered while I was walking around but were sold when I went back - a large RC Toyota Crown with missing rear bumper/lights for £5, and a James Bond Sunbeam Alpine, still boxed/sealed for £2

I still bought a couple of things that I can't quite explain why I wanted them, starting with this;

20210425_10572320210425_10574820210425_105825

It's huge. It has no make on it anywhere, the rear doors have code numbers and that's it. 1960s?

The same seller had another large plastic toy, this one has bits missing but it was too charming to leave behind

20210425_10592120210425_10592920210425_105939

This one is Hong Kong No. 715 if anyone recognises it?

Walked right past this the first time as the guy seemed to be selling metal jerry cans and fire extinguishers cut out and lights/speakers installed, so I nearly missed out on this boxed Corgi 944 for £2

20210425_110028

A few days ago I saw one of these on eBay and was in two minds if I REALLY needed a no-name Chinese camper, but I picked this one up today and noticed something...

20210425_11025220210425_11050820210425_110515

Anyone guessed why I bought it?

Zee Toys dragster is incomplete but not one I'd come across before

20210425_110702

Another one I missed on my first go round, as it was in a display case. Most expensive purchase at £5, seller said he has another he'll bring next week. In better nick than the one I paid more for via eBay, these often suffer bent steering wheels and missing bits

20210425_11074920210425_110758

Missing the bonnet, but for £1...

20210425_110837

In a bad way, but in a 5 for £1 deal was this Dinky Corvette

20210425_111108

This was in the same display case as the driving school Beetle. I thought the backs on these were always detachable, but no. Still a separate casting but riveted somehow

20210425_111136

Different seller, another Commer - with Trans-O-Lite!

20210425_11121920210425_111324

Another stall I nearly dismissed as it looked like assorted house clearance junk - but found a tin of 50p cars hiding to one side

20210425_11155120210425_11163320210425_11173820210425_11180620210425_11190220210425_11194120210425_11202020210425_11231120210425_11234520210425_11241720210425_11270320210425_112759

Dinky!

20210425_113010

I declined the Bburago E-Type with broken windscreen surround, no windscreen and missing tail light that she insisted was worth well over £100...

Lastly was this for £1.50, a lot for a tatty overpainted diecast, but it's an Original 16 Hot Wheels Custom Fleetside. Restore or flip, we'll see. I also declined his kind offer of a tatty Tonka AMC Gremlin at £5

Bond Alpine?  I would have been all over that, I need two for my fillum cars collection (both will have to be repainted).

So, the camper. Something looked very familiar about the casting...

20210425_11055020210425_11354520210425_11355620210425_11360920210425_113638

Yep it's our old friend the Corgi/Playart Mazda B1600 pickup, living a new life in China. There are a couple of alterations such as the grille and interior, MAZDA logo removed and a small mod to the rear of the casting where it attaches to the base. I'm almost tempted to take mine apart and see if the blue tinted glass fits

That big plastic tractor unit looks exactly the same as a red one that originally had a Texaco tanker on it , that my Grandad got free from a petrol station in the late sixties. Cant remember what happened to the tanker but I binned the cab about 20 years ago when I was sorting my Dad’s old Dinkys.

My finds from this morning. They were from one of those sellers who has a huge box of cars, but nowhere to put some so that you can look through them more easily 😂20210425_125341.thumb.jpg.090ce055175f40222004747e8f47b78d.jpg

Don't know if it's intentional, but the yellow Mazda copy looks quite like a Ford Courier with the single round headlights.

I skipped going to a nearby 1:1 show today (Stonham Barns) as I didn't want to end up spending money at stalls there or at the nextdoor boot sale.

The tractor unit is of a Ford C-series

Single headlamps and no side-repeaters make it 1961-68.  The real thing, anyhow

Is that a scene from an episode of Danger Man, circa 1963?

I does! My new Hot Wheels seller was at Stonham Barns this weekend, which probably saved me a few pounds

Ha; I've just arrived home from a nice trip out to Bradfield Wood, home via Long Melford and passed the Kersey Mill car show en route,  A decent array of machinery encountered on the way, but it completely skipped my mind that today was "drive it day" and various shows would be going on.  I must put Trigger's East Coast Retros meet on my radar.

Anyway. It's reached the time where I'm due to wax lyrical over a 1/18 model from my attic once more, and after last week's 205GTi we have something that really does stretch the definition of Autoshite.

It's a Renault Clio V6.

EzZ4Y2IWEAA18K3.thumb.jpg.9faad8bb030dfbfea3d8af3cba0870d3.jpg

This is a model from Eagle Collectibles, which is a strange and extremely variable brand. All kinds of terrible old rammle has been boxed up under the Eagle moniker, including the dreadful Jouef / Universal Hobbies GT40 (which looks far more like a terrible GRP imitation) and countless other models from the french diecast concern, and various offerings from Revell, among which this is. I also have Revell's 1/18 rendition of this car's progenitor, the 5 Turbo, somewhere in one of the anonyomous cardboard boxes in the attic, and might get it down some day.

I've seen this one boxed as an Eagle Collectibles,  a Universal Hobbies and a Revell.

EzZ4YY7XoAAtJsh.thumb.jpg.fdfb95d878070cff441b83943d53bda2.jpg

For now, though, the Clio, and I'm afraid I'm going to gush with praise once again, because there's precious little wrong with this one.

EzZ4Z4lX0AM5XSz.thumb.jpg.cba33e85eefe11668682069269de76ab.jpg

Right down to the mesh in the intakes, the textures of the seats, the black graphics on the windows, the barrel of the driver's door lock, everything is modelled with unerring accuracy.

The only thing that looks immediately out of scale is the size of the metal flakes in the paint.

EzZ4ZVmXIAAbEGU.thumb.jpg.b01101fcd83dc7215bcce5a720725ac1.jpg

Inside there isn't much to separate the fidelity here from what you might expect in an AUTOart model for many times the price.

Perhaps the best bit, though;

EzZ4u1vXIAc2MoY.thumb.jpg.49b120e9458c8cef32bdff099c03805f.jpg

That beautifully curved engine cover, which clicks with precision into the surrounding boot-area trim, conceals...

EzZ4vGIWUAEW0rF.thumb.jpg.637dd8cb83b7529c94df435f41df4296.jpg

....the heart of the beast.

Yeah, okay, it's just grey plastic. But the actual 1/1 installation doesn't look wildly different, and the embossed Renault V6 script looks terrific, so it'll do very nicely indeed.

Seems this is a bit of a forgotten model on eBay. Completed listings vary massively in price, and they're thin on the ground at any rate. If you're keen on insane frenchies, though, it comes highly recommended and would display nicely with far, far pricier gear.

I had the Eagle GT40, agreed it was very cheap and nasty, picked one up in a French Supermarket in the mid 90’s. The Alfa Spider they did was half decent though?

Cararama / Hongwell made an E39 saloon in various guises (foreign Police cars mainly) but also in civilian form as well (this ones on Ebay at the moment for £14 inc. postage).....

Schuco & Schabak also made the E39 in saloon & estate variants but these are rarer (i.e more expensive)

Pretty much mint, with all dealer paperwork and a local address on the service log.

Chod-tastic.

Excuse me whilst I say "WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?".

Fellow Falkirk area shiter @Cheezeyhas just resued some tip top Corgis from the metal recycling skip in Denny tip. Check the NN24 thread for what he found.
