A wee project I have just finished. 1:18 scale Escort RS1100 'Max Power' © 1993 😎👌post-3238-0-86770400-1441232088_thumb.jpgpost-3238-0-31130800-1441232110_thumb.jpgpost-3238-0-33177400-1441232137_thumb.jpgpost-3238-0-37779000-1441232157_thumb.jpgpost-3238-0-58699200-1441232177_thumb.jpg

That reminds me of those Atlas Dinky repros you get. They started off cheap as chips but now cost almost as much as the genuine item, I specifically refer to the Renault 12 Gordini that I have wanted since I was a kid. They can FRO with that.

Anyone know if anyone did a B5 Audi A4 in silver? I can find all sorts of models - mainly Minichamps, but they're all the wrong colour (black/green/orange mainly) and/or an Avant. For some reason a few of them are based on poverty wheeltrim-clad versions...

Not to worry if not, I have a 1:72 RS4 Avant in red, it'd just be nice to have one to match Old Man's.

Like that Safrane! Bugger all like that in charity shops up here as I'm close to the location of a huge monthly swap meet and the traders Hoover up anything worth having.

Yeah, same round here.   They get up bloody early too, some of 'em.   I was at a charity boot sale last summer though, and spotted one of the dealers prowling round.   Made it particularly satisfying when I found an ultra rare Matchbox issue in somebody's 50p box, though....

I had been holding off buying a C15 van model to represent my 12 inch to the foot one because I could not find a white one at a reasonable price, I have now given in and bought a blue one, if a white one comes up then I will change it.

Good haul!  Some nice kit in that lot, well found.

So, I admit it's way off shite territory and there are heroes on this thread who have actually 3D printed Lotus Esprit slot car bodies, and examples of model kits built to the superlative possible standards of attention to detail, and I can't really compete with that.

But:

I've just paid £14.50 for a 1:12 scale XJ220.

It's only a Maisto and nowhere near the kind of standards that 1:12 models are up to these days, but it's bloody massive. I first saw one of these models when I was eleven. Only had to wait another 23 years to own one...

Need to do some photo updates as a shitload has entered the fleet including some old Bburago 1/43's for resto, plus 2 Whitebox/Trofeu Escort Mk2's from a certain Lobster of this parish!

Like the Lesneys!   Caddy quite scarce in that condition - I reckon that's the prototype paint for Ford Light Orchid on them - it usually falls off.   Can't believe the split window still has its doors despite being quite playworn - the lantern roof bit is a rarer model I think than the flat roof one.   I remember customising* a Singer sewing machine Thames like that by using a Husky Thames van interior, crap flame paint job and forcing Superfast wheels apart before threading them through the axle holes.  Probably should have been doing homework or something....I seem to have left school only knowing about Matchbox toys.

If the VW didn't have doors I wouldn't have bought it.

Gave €5.00 each for them all,not cheap but not too expensive either :-D

That custom Thames sounded interesting

I ended up restoring the little Thames back to original with another baseplate, I think!    Fiver a piece is about right, I reckon.   Don't see stuff like that around much now.

The guy selling them had quite a few more old Lesneys,

but sadly I had run out of cash :-(

There will be others though 8)

Dug out the other VW to compare.

I have the Morestone VW (also in light blue) and these others.....

Matchbox (previous model to the original Camper van which was green with metal interior), Lego (loads of colours on these)  and Husky (which also came with tower wagon or elevator belt attachments).

Impressed with those Lagondas - they were fetching quite a bit last time I looked.   I only go up to the pink and yellow box just before these ones (to save a bit of space).    That LAD cabbed rigid - is that Budgie?
