@bunglebus didn't some early Corgi Juniors use the Husky base with the name removed,& Corgi Juniors stuck on a sticker?

Also, have you seen the original version of the Maisto Baja Bug is still available in Poundland in metallic red?

Sounds about right, an interesting hybrid by the look of it.

And

I didn’t expect to just come across one of these in a local junk shop but the chap does diecasts at reasonable prices so he's usually worth a look if I'm passing. It's a little scruffy but I don't care, it's a lovely model and one I'm pleased to have.. Definitely not furtively papped in the canteen..

The Corgi 16 is well proportioned, definitely my favourite version. I was so excited to get the Tour De France issue from a Swapmeet in 1990 as I loved these cars at the time, which were firnly in their old banger phase by then. A few more followed like your example which I sold some years ago but the TDF one has remained.

Yes, I don't have the Norev 16, but I also prefer the Corgi. Here is Norev's attempt

s-l1600.jpg

However, some of the newer Norev castings do seem to do it better.

I now have quite the collection of Hotwheels. It gives me something to do when I'm near a Tescos or Entertainer or B&M. My only self imposed rule is that I must only buy them 'in the wild' not off ebay or whatever because that would be unsporting.

I was made up when visiting Welshpool B&M that they had the notoriously tricky to find (thanks to online resellers) Lolvo 850. I also bagged a Mitsi EVO (pictured)… The grille looks a bit naff all one colour but at £1.50 apiece I was more than happy.

That'll teach me to read the last couple of pages properly before posting.. Egg, the place I went today had the Corgi Heinkel, sort of orangey colour and touched up (quite well) with Humbrol in places but really quite presentable at eight quid. Can go back next week if it appeals?  He also had a gold French Dinky Peugeot 504 for the same price, nice presentable example I'm sort of thinking I should have bought. Definitely wish I'd taken my phone in with me..

@Amishtat - thanks for thinking of me, but that's about the same as the online price posted to me.  But if you see a cheaper one....

It's no good trying to resist the lure of the tat box any longer! Could I lay claim to the Majorette generator, green Discovery and Budgie crane truck (5-6, 6-12 and 7-12)? Also, if this yellow MAN and the battered EFE Harrington are still in the box o' tat next time would you mind hoiking them out for me, thankyouplease?

Those three all set aside for you - and I'll certainly have a look for the Harrington and the MAN on Friday, no bother1

Can I have;

Board 1, #18

Board 2 #14

And the Buick, why not!

Don't worry too much about discount, but if you could put them in my reserved box that'd be great

Black Chevrolet Corvette and red Dodge Dakota... you surely can, plus the Riviera and all. Nice one!

As an aside, how does anyone else display blister pack HW and Matchbox?

I have vertical rows of nails in the wall at strategic points; also in the sides of wall cupboards, bookshelves etc, with the blisters hanging from the nails.  They overlap, so the only one you can see in its entirety is the top one, but that's ok by me.

If so, I would be quite interested at £8. That's a really rare model. There is an Atlas version, and a later one with no opening bits, neither of which I am interested in - but if it's one of the original Spanish-built ones with the opening bits.... yes please

You like it Smoll Eddy?

I do have a spare Volvo if anyone out there has the new hot wheels Alpine A110 to trade?

No, it's a greener gold than that with no opening features that I recall, fairly horrible plastic wheels and a sticker of a black panther or something on each front door. If it had looked at all like the one in your picture I'd have bought it there and then on general principle, that's lovely.

I went back for some extremely shoddy photographs, the Heinkel and Peugeot aren't as nice as I thought though. Dayglo Corgi Capri appealed until I noticed a-pillar damage.

I know, but this time I don't regard his pricing as unreasonable. Almost everything in those pictures is between £6-15. Not boot sale money, granted, but not ridiculous.

When I see Tags

I think - ‘perennially for sale’

I think it’s intentional  ?

That's a Solido 505 BTW, not a patch on the Dinky one.

Thanks @Datsuncog I received my very finely packaged box of cars today. Really cheered me up after the hellish few days at work I have had. I got a right load of those HotWheels steering rigs, they work great. I'm also looking forward to sorting the Renault 5. I'll probs leave the paint alone and just straighten the roof and remake the glazing using something suitable. If only I had a spare Ferrero Rocher box.......

I've got one of those that I started doing up about 4 years ago, it's in primer but the casting marks are dreadful. The base forming the wheelarches bugs me, as do the too-shallow doors. I still like it despite its faults

Just realised Corgi updated the reg, probably each year to make it look "new"

INJ really bugs me too. At least yours has a legit registration

but best of all those dinky escrots are screwed together, so no rivets to drill out!

On closer inspection you're both right.. Look at that flashing at the end of the roof gutter and you can't un-notice the door/sill gap. Still, looks to come apart pretty easily.

Decided to put the Cortina on display in the back room, displacing a heavily playworn Mk. X Jaguar on the transporter. In so doing, the lamp was doing a fine job of Transoliteing the Riviera and Rover 2000.
