Felly Magic Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I've been a bit ill again recently, resulting in some hospital time, so to try and cheer myself up, I got on with doing a code 3 to go on my shiteorama. Looks drastically improved I think, sodding Eddy Stowebridges Before After, bloody hell, Fred's gone & rung the bugger eddyramrod, Burnside, hennabm and 8 others 11
Remspoor Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 This ....... Looks just like this..... MGB by Aston Martin. A taller front screen. Junkman 1

egg Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Detailing the metro was a success. If by success, you mean a crack handed overpainted misery...! edit: learning point is that Halford's applejack doesn't enjoy Sharpie action. junkyarddog, Junkman, eddyramrod and 2 others 5
junkyarddog Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Two from my small haul from Datsuncog! Some new tyres and a quick scrub up. mercrocker, egg, Burnside and 6 others 9

IMG_20180629_124544.jpg IMG_20180629_124534.jpg Go to Hobbycraft and pick up some of the little paints! They're super cheap and you only need red, orange and black. And white, maybe some silver. Sometimes it's nice to paint the lights silver and then colour them with Tamiya clear orange and red, so get those too. But that's all. Oh, you'll want to get the black in gloss, semigloss and matt too. While you're there, you should pick up some of the super fine masking tape, it's really useful. I forgot brushes. Get some brushes. Also one of those little turntables. eddyramrod, Junkman, Datsuncog and 2 others 5
junkyarddog Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Did a wheel swap on ole MacDonalds truck. Reminds me of those 1960's show Hot Rods. Junkman, Datsuncog, mercrocker and 3 others 6
quicksilver Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I finally got my hands on the elusive Lima Fiat 131 from a man called Miguel in Barcelona. Not a bad little model and better than the Capri as it has windows and an interior. It reminds me a lot of the later Minix with black bases. With a bit of paint and some attention to the wheels it should look pretty decent. Felly Magic Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 A pack of cheap permanent markers for lights is another top tip, and a silver sharpie, or Tipp-Ex pen for doing stuff like lights. I picked up a pack of 10 permy markers from the land of pounds and they had orange & red in, as well as black
Pillock Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Go to Hobbycraft only needAnd, maybe someget those tooyou'll want to getpick up someGet someAlsoHobbycraft shares doing well, Conrad? Junkman and egg 2

Felly Magic Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I have now right hand drive converted my Cavascona from the Eaglemoss partwork. It was one of those projects that at first you thought would be straight forward, but nope. Whilst removing the dashboard, the drill slopped, buggering the windscren, then I noticed that at some point a headlamp lens had gone awaol, the replacement dashboard from an Altaya Lotus Omega was aright arse to fit, requiring lots of sanding & cutting to eventually fit. Glad I had some acetate sheet knocking about to make new glazing and headlamp lens. Period correct numberplates added too. Also rhd converted this old Morris 1300, it's a shite casting, and even that went Pete Tong, getting a big glob of glue on the windscreen, note to self, don't attemt code 3s at 3am when suffering insomnia. eddyramrod, Skizzer, egg and 3 others 6
Spottedlaurel Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Some excellent acquisitions and restorations above. I've been accumulating some bits and bobs over the last few weeks, ranging from 20p charity shop purchases to things found in antiques and collectibles shops: Mercedes L406D by Siku, Mitsubishi Fuso by Shinsei and slammed 760 with OMG negative camber (axles a bit bent). No markings whatsoever on the base of the latter and it's a rather crude if amusing casting. If it's of interest to anyone let me know - I can bring it to FOTU and it'll be a freebie. Never seen one of these garages before, looks like it will fit onto the track systems I am familiar with. As much as anything I like the box, a jumbo version of the usual Superfast effort. The Rolls Royce was an odd find - I went to a local antiques shop where I'd seen he had a few MIB Superfast on display. He then produced a box with even more from behind the counter, the sort of thing I dream about (genuinely), but sod's law dictated that I already had them all except one, the Pi-Eyed Piper. Opened the box up to have a look and this was inside it, kind of a shame not to be able to fill a gap in my MIB collection but the Rolls is one I'm also looking for. I suspect it'll be a while before I can find one boxed at an affordable price so for now this will do. Did have a look through the rest of the boxes to see if any others had ended up in the wrong ones, but it was just this one. Various others. Pleased to find the Matchbox Skyline at 20p, I struggle to get to shops that stock the current range. Firebird is by Greenlight and seems rather long and thin. The Dune Buggy is by Lone Star, can't recall seeing any of their stuff when I was a youngster. I thought it was a some generic plastic modern Chinese thing, but was surprised to see a metal baseplate and "Made in England". MIB Cosmobile turned out to be a duplicate, I'm sure I can trade that at a future toyfair. Datsuncog, Junkman, junkyarddog and 3 others 6
junkyarddog Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Nice haul. I have one of those lone star buggys too.

Frogchod Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Yet more waterslide experimentation This time with white waterslide paper because without a super posh printer you can't print white.Might paint the roof white to make it more guinessy. RayMK, egg, eddyramrod and 2 others 5
junkyarddog Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Today's diecast finds at a car boot sale are these Corgi Ford car transporter and Mercedes 240d. €3.00 for the lot!! They are in quite good shape too. Very happy with them. egg, Spottedlaurel, eddyramrod and 4 others 7
Felly Magic Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 You spawny so & so! That Ford Incontinental is lush, a mate had a blue one as a kid and I was well jealous, tilting cab on it with the gearstick correctly mounted on top of the engine. Corgi later re-issued this in the classics range as well. I have an Autoshite coloured 240D with a slighlty gubbed windscreen & repaired suspension somewhere
Mr A Lawrence Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Today's car boot purchases. Lamboghini murchelago Focus rs rally shite. Lamrover freelander Martin, Aston Martin db5 007. BlackManWilly 525. BlackManWilly 328. All 33.3p each. Junkman and Burnside 2
Pillock Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Those BMWs are nice. 3 series looks typical drug dealer chic, low spec with the biggest wheels possible. Mr A Lawrence 1
Split_Pin Posted July 1, 2018 Author Posted July 1, 2018 I couldn't be at the Swapmeet and not buy anything so picked up this lot. It was a slow day there, very light on punters probably due to the hot weather. Burnside, egg, Skizzer and 5 others 8
eddyramrod Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Now you need some police X5s to TPAC the 3-series on your motorway diorama!
Spottedlaurel Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 How could Siku mess up the Kadett/Astra so much? RoadworkUK 1
Split_Pin Posted July 1, 2018 Author Posted July 1, 2018 The cruder the better as far as I am concerned.
eddyramrod Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Yeah we know, but how do you like your model cars to be? Junkman 1
