Yesterdays finds £1.50 from an antiques shop rummage box full of past times and cheap plastic tat, I almost didn't look but I found a few hidden gems.

The shop had lots of cars in glass cabinets for more money and worse shape, different sellers I guess?

Johnny Lightning Supercar will be going to my Dad as he loves Supercar. The Lonestar Lotus is in bad shape but I felt sorry for it. The Thames van has it's doors and areal. The newish Matchbox Giulia casting has eluded me for years.

Zylmex Fortuna is a good find

It’s the blue one with two engines

Small selection of 1980s toybox survivors on the shelves at the Hospice Shop on Saturday morning, courtesy of Matchbox, Corgi and Bburago:

IMG_20260328_101500.jpg.40964af8fecea6e358a2df2c231fa34a.jpg

Not in wonderful shape, sadly:

IMG_20260328_101533.jpg.3158ad023280fb01b1241ef0d7643af9.jpg

But still - for a quid a throw, not too steep either.

Bit alarming to realise these toys are knocking on 40 years old now!

Agreed. I've got a similarly overpainted Lone Star Lotus in my project box awaiting resurrection, and the only Fortuna I've ever found is the Krazy Wheels version

In a week where @flat4alfa was cruelly denied a mooch round my local boot sale by rain that never came, I went buying needless shite in his absense. Im blaming @flat4alfa for that Record No3 vice 😉

So what did I get for a platry £3 (aprt from grime and a lifetime supply of dried plasticine) first up is the Chopper Squad  CJ7, which is lovely bar a wonky windscreen.

The Dinky Lamborghini Marzal is something Ive never cared about, but actually it’s great with opening boot and bonnet, only spoiled by the wheels (which have plasticine still embedded in them). Fabulous colour too, I mustn't let my tribal thoughts towards Dinky - who were Vauxhall to Corgi’s Ford in my 6 year old brain - skew me ignoring future Dinky products.

Finally whilst wandering back to my car I stumbled on this CF on a stall of random house clearance junk. Sadly a child 😁 has played with it, and the light up sign doesn't glow red anymore. However £1 FTW!

That window has dropped and I've only just noticed. It's not rivetted I'm so I don't know why, off to apply some glue...

*Edit* nope that's just how it looks, it's the inside of the plastic that's visible. I suppose it can only go in one place due to the headlights being part of it

You have to push down on the rear wheels as it's  rolling to get that to change. Sometimes they're temperamental but they usually work eventually

I'd torn the plastic off but it was just wrapped around in card, so the car was smashing around inside destroying the box. They don't care.

Trouble is people think post is all done by hand, it's been mechanised pre 90s it's giant tumblers, conveyor belts into wheel tubs, etc.

The only human part is at the counter, sacks thrown into vehicles & vehicle to your door.

The last month has been quite a stressful one for various reasons, and that coupled with numerous items arriving badly packed and damaged has dampened my enthusiasm for tiny toys somewhat.

However, a morning with the house to myself going through some new arrivals, cleaning and repairing where necessary has sorted out my funk at least a little bit.

In no particular order, we have another Supervan found in a job lot
