Got the paint off it now. Body needs the inside soaking a bit more but the base is good.

Rover is stripped.

It’s a solid hefty casting. It’d take a bit to break it I think, basically the exact opposite of the bumper & grill plastics!

 
It hasn’t survived it’s half century plus completely unscathed though. There’s quite a few bits like this;

Gouges and scrapes, little chips and dings. Expected really though from such an old toy. I’ll try some fine filler on the worst ones then some filler primer on the shallow ones. A bit of filing and sanding might be needed on a few too.

Nice though, and I think it’ll come up well.

It's on the list, have to be carefull to not get one that the white tampo has rubbed off though. I'm not mad on these but just happened to spot a few and you know, it goes from there. Chrome hood scoop is the one that I can't get my sweaty little mits on right now.

Not a big fan of emergency vehicles but the Capri is very cool, as if it would be used as an EMT car!

What an awesome collection. I would be inclined to say that it's added value to those models so well done. My GT collection (if you can call it that, more of a smattering really) gets added to now and then. I find it quite fascinating that some have survived all these years without being drawn on. Unmarked GT command fairly strong prices as you know, it's a nice result when one turns up sitting in a collection of rammel.

I can add a pinky orange to the colours Of the Spot On Rover. 
 

The one I’m re painting, I decided to just buff  with steel wool and then use filler primer despite the many casting defects (character?) and I used a dark maroon colour. This is the only pic I have of that as I’m sitting in Basel airport. 
Edit: it’s not been polished yet.

Nice little model, but it does have flared arches, as it’s the base casting of the IXO rally version. It doesn’t stand out massively though.

Latest batch of Graffic Traffics have arrived 

Despite the red windows, this isn't actually one

Wrong wheels and Thailand base are a giveaway

@155V6 was mean and wouldn't donate his Supervan, so this is a good find

No white base for some reason 

I have the Testarossa already, one of a few in this series with clear windows

The Corvette also gets clear glazing

Junior has made my life very hard decorating the white plastic bases

Same with the roof on the Model A, which is strangely smooth, rather than textured 

Another white base to cause me headaches

Lastly, a biggun - Specials Kremer Porsche. I've got a couple of the larger cars awaiting the treatment, both Ferraris. Once again the base is fully ruined just for fun

A bunglebox was delivered yesterday which contained some poorly but very cheap, 1/24 scale models. 

One however was pretty spruce and very unusual for my collection in being a Spanish Guiloy. I have an (approximately) 1/18 Sierra XR4i made by them and it's awful so I was interested to see what this Aston Martin DB7 was all about.

First off was to disassemble it and clean everything.

Back together and not only is it in great condition, but it's a heavy and well-detailed model. I especially love the seats and the 'wood' stickers.

I was surprised to see just a 6 cylinder engine and when I read up on these cars, they are basically a Jaguar XJS underneath, including the engine. Didnt know that! Very Autoshite.

Therefore it's closely related to the similar looking Jaguar XJ Coupe.

I think they've fitted the closest thing to Lotus steels:

In other news, I took my donor Marauder apart, and more differences between this production version and the colour trial have come to light

The slots for the spoiler are much smaller on the proto version, presumably this lead to the spoiler breaking off as mine has, hence the wider legs and added supports on the pink version

The interior is also different, the driver fits from underneath on the pink one, but he slots in from above on the proto, again hence him going missing this is a similar situation to my Shovel Nose colour trial which lost its canopy due to it just slotting into the roof. I also can't fit the driver in as the seat area is different, but I think I can file his bum down a bit!

The roll hoop and engine appear to be unchanged, so I'll try and cut the roll hoop off the donor and carefully glue it in - I'll try and do the same with the steering wheel

Meanwhile, a box arrived today from the lovely @sierraman:

Plenty of fun to be had with this lot!  (The scissors are mine...)  And I've just thrown paint over some shells too...

...including white plastic primer on these.

Some can be detailed and reassembled when they're dry; some need two-toning, as you can see in the last pic.  I'm definitely not unmasking that until at least tomorrow afternoon.

Bloody hell, Local Tescotainer have been busy. Biggest Mattel splurge I've had in one place for a while.

Another sprinkling of newer Matchbox on top of the older stuff. Still no Chevelle, but still managed to find 3 to make up the offer. I was pleased to find the Baja bug,

The car seems pleased too!

Some modern electric nonsense, but it's a Merc, so in the basket it went.

Great detailing on the front

Was also pleased to find the Morgan that's found a lot of fans on here,

I've not really been drawn to the Hot Wheels version, but this is a little belter.

And fresh stocks of Hot Wheels L case (I think) too,

Starting with a Honda triple-bill,

A lairy striped Mopar will always grab my attention,

Guessing this one is a way of using the casting from the Jaws premium release. Its a fun looking thing with nice tampos,

A pink Porker. Not one I've seen in any of the preview vids.

I really need to stop buying multiples of the same castings, as my loft is starting to get a bit over run with Hot Wheels and Matchbox. But it doesn't help with castings like this...

A Ferrari one-two as well. Absolutely love the Daytona,

 And the F40 is a little work of art too,

Escort Cossie looking nice in purple, a bit like the Jewel Violet shade on the Monte editions, even the wheels look similar to the OZ racing ones on them.

But far and away, the best find was this,

What a little gem.

Only other one I was after, that wasn't there, was the Alfa Giulia. But still the  best haul for a while, sadly doesn't happen much around here now.
