Meant to say @danthecapriman your shed looks fantastic! That's the dream!

I'd be taking a cheeky 6 pack in there as well for a Friday 😅

🤣 I might put one of those little beer fridges in there under the bench!
The quality of work might start to rapidly go down hill though as Friday afternoon progresses.

Makes it a bit of a pain shopping for second hand ones if you're looking for a good one...

I think the one I have in the garage is a Record.

That looks very similar to mine. Maybe it is a Record then?
I’ve also got a bigger one in the garage for doing the cars. Again though, no idea on make or age. That one’s taken a real beating over the years too.

That’s a later one from when Irwin took them over. There’s distinct differences between those ones and the older ones. The colour is a bit less sudden on the older ones. I’ve got one as above like you have in my lock up, a Record 3 and a Record Fitters Vice.

Yes you may be right it does look a bit dark. I do have a late proper Record that's in a not quite as dark colour to that . Record colours do vary though.

Scratch that! Just been in the garage and they aren’t where I thought they were. Which means I can’t remember!😄

When I find them after I’ve finished the shed I’ll post them up.

It was the cheapest one I could nab locally and looked like it'd already seen enough use it was unlikely to explode! A lot of the brand new ones seem to crack nearly instantly.

It's a No1 and still says "Made in England" on it but isn't a proper oldie. I think the most obvious difference is the mounting bolt holes vs cutouts.

It’ll probably, for a 3/4 inch vice be ok, it’s not like a fitters vice where you’ll be holding struts in it or getting into heavy metalwork.

Dibs on the Marklin VW if you ever decide to move it on.  Same with ECTO1.

The VW would go nice with my ADAC Merc flatbed.

It's a real shame they're an odd scale (1/90-something I think) and not 1/76 to go with the Atlantean.
