@bunglebus my Peterbilt had a red towing dolly, I remember it clearly. It was a great toy.

Interior completed in the F10. I wanted to get a photo of it before the panels hide it forever.

The back lights were a bit too dirty so I 'cleaned' them. Don't want a GV9 from the Transport Police!

I've built lots of these trucks over the years but in the last few months I have tried to step it up. I usually I just paint a few parts like the engine and seats.

The last truck I built in November however was the first where I spraypainted the cab.

With this one I've tried to go next level with the detail and weathering. Progress feels slow but considering I only got it on Christmas day I've done alright I think.

Things are helped by my wife also taking her time with the details on her 1/12 houses. This is meant to be a dining area for 3 people and thats it tidy!

She is almost finished her beach hut (it's her 3rd) and next is her Winter Lodge that I got her for Christmas. Believe it or not this was all my idea 😂

I'm amazed at how far you've got with that truck so quickly. Mrs Concern admired the weathering as well, but really wants to see more of Mrs Pin's houses and beach huts. Also what is the Winter Lodge?

Latest Corgi Club list. Might be skipping Chitty Chitty Bang Bang I think, despite really wanting to go and see it at Beaulieu when I was little

I picked one of those Pete’s a while back. I also have the majorette one which is very similar, clearly not based on it but you can see they had it in mind. I’ve spaffed more than what I’d normally pay on a K150 Leyland Roadrunner but it’s one I’d been after for an age and they were not common as only made for a year or so.

@bunglebus I think these wheels do suit it. Granted its not an exact representation, but the wheels could do with a slightly duller colour. Being a big smaller would help but realistically it's probably not going to happen unless you can find a friendly 3D printer to print out an exact replica, in which case you may as well go for pepperpots.

I've never seen that towing dolly, my original didn't have one either. Did it exist?

My police version of the wrecker came with a black plastic dolly - pretty sure I still have it, too.

Will have a search for that later on.

It does in the livery - that’s from 1994ish so the colours were just a carbon copy of the Superkings one. They’re ‘different enough’ when you line them up but you can see where their heads were at!

The main difference is the Matchbox is a Peterbilt

IMG_2200.jpeg.00225499d1047a371521dcd1adc67a7e.jpeg

The Majorette is a Kenworth

IMG_2202.thumb.jpeg.1a1e14a4786165dc612e39b3ce32da0b.jpeg

Conversions were typically produced by Holmes, Miller, Weld and others.  Not sure which is which, but the Peterbilt has twin booms very much like a Holmes, an extendable two hook and outriggers.  The Kenworth has a single extendable boom and a flip-front engine hood

IMG_2206.thumb.jpeg.da9be2c63992c852795fff25f74a07c1.jpeg

The Majorette is stated underneath to be 1:47 and alongside the Matchbox it is slightly larger

Yes Pacific Car also acquired Foden prior to Leyland.  From Leyland, it gained Thornycroft, Scammell, AEC, Albion, Guy

Main competitors today are Daimler AG with Freightliner, General, White, Detroit Diesel

Caterpillar have Krupp, Perkins and Alvis (Unipower)

International (Navistar) are now part of VW alongside MAN and Scania

Any one want this for £5 posted? 1960’s Norev Beetle. It’s a lovely old thing but it’s not my cup of tea, I got it in a job of other stuff which I’ve moved on.

Wouldn't mind the Capri if you're offering!

The MK1 Escort and Husky Thames van would also have a good home here

For literally a few pence that we had in change, I don't think they're bad either! They wouldn't take card or change a tenner

There are 4 versions of the Triumph. Along with the dark red there are

Dispatch

1970s-Britains-Deetail-WW2-British-Army-

Police

BRITAINS-ROAD-SERIES-9697-TRIUMPH-THUNDE

And metallic blue

Sometime the rider on the red version has his chin on the tank trying to break the ton.

The great thing about the colours that Britains chose is that they are pretty close to what Triumph painted the bikes in themselves.
