That’s fantastic!🤣

You could spend ages trying to identify them all! Is this where a lot of the damaged spares cars go from my sales?

I built this banger yard years ago,but it's got a bit neglected.I might have to re-stock it,it's not as if I've got a shortage of things to put in it20241018_175502.jpg.c0987d4715aacc0b8da993c9fa589d03.jpg

I recognise at least three of those Mercury station wagons, and at least one sedan! :)

I think that’s a Dinky Chevette.

I've never met Tom Sierraman but I reckon he drives an ancient LDV with a Jack Russell on the passenger seat and his yard is only open if you know where to find him 😅

Fair warning, I'm going to put some more bits on my sales thread today as I need to bung what doesn't sell on eBay tomorrow

It’s one of those urban myth type places were there’s a rumour he shoots trespassers. 😂

When I was growing up we actually used to believe that if we took a shortcut across the farmers field we would actually possibly be shot. Like they’d got carte blanche to go round murdering folks 😂😂

In the mean time, here are a few arrivals courtesy of @FakeConcern

Minibus is pretty tidy other than compulsory crack in the glass

Mebetoys Fiesta is a very pleasing find, despite a few missing bits

As is the 1303, I do have a tatty one that could donate a rear bumper

In fairness that Fiesta looks exactly as I remember them, bumper missing as it’s got end caps missing/rusty. Because it wasn’t integral to the body you could get through the test if you were a bit of a tightwad.

Yeah to me too. I worked for VW when the MK5 launched until about 2016, still can't tell them apart

Home Bargains had some Majorette Tune-Ups,reduced from £6.99 to £1.99. @bunglebuskindly posted the codes so that I could tell what was in the boxes👍,These were the ones I picked up20241019_134548.jpg.250d293fa546146f7a6a8a6fecae2a4a.jpg

Lamborghini Urus20241019_134659.jpg.3bc2997774181166e6234d268a71825e.jpg

Toyota GT86,apparently this one is Super Rare20241019_134649.jpg.e667bf8caff18351fc11e32e4b80f853.jpg

They all come with extra clip on parts, but these are quite naff, the only thing I did use was the roof box on the Lamborghini,as the roof rack is already fitted.

Quie pleased with these, especially for the price.I might pick up a couple more next time I'm in there.

Here’s another one I’ve had on the bench.

All the talk of the Corgi Cortina GXL a while back inspired me to get one out and have a go at it.

This one began life as a police car version. Then somewhere along the way someone decided to break out the red Humbrol and create a fire chief car out of it! It looked a right mess, but it was basically sound under all the old paint.

After paint stripper, it came up well. Corgi did a nice job on these, with the cast details like the grill, badges and that cool vinyl roof join down each side of the roof.

I’ve done a custom job on this one, but tried not to go overboard on it as I still want it to look like the original Corgi toy, just a bit more unique.
I painted it in purple velvet metallic, black vinyl roof with the holes filled in, repainted the interior black to match, new glazing (which doesn’t fit as well as the original part!), chrome on bumpers reapplied, then treated it to some fancy wheels!
It’s loosely assembled in the pic hence why the base isn’t fitted in properly!

It’s almost finished now but I’m just waiting for some replacement headlights as I broke a couple taking them out.
Obviously the Vanguard’s mk3 is a mile better, being a more modern finer casting but these old Corgi ones still do look great.

No HW/MBX additions this week, but I did get this built Tamiya kit off eBay the other day:

Brush-painted beige enamel, probably Humbrol. Decals are an interesting choice! I wonder if it had a lightbar fitted, hence the glue blobs on the roof. Perhaps it was the pace car version?

It didn't look quite as straight in the listing photos as the body wasn't properly fitted onto the floorpan. I thought it might make for a Horry Barnes Saloon Stock Car, but I think it could be tidied-up and kept more or less as is, a bit like I did with the black non-targa version I got a while back:

There’s all sorts of wheels and other bits.
Pretty sure they do them for their own kit range but also offer them as separate parts.

I looked at those on eBay before, finish looked a bit rough in their images so I didn't buy any

Going by the decals it was supposed to be a fire chief car, but looks a bit odd in beige rather than red.
