Called into the bigger local branch of B&M earlier - no HW Flying Customs or Premium Fast 'n' Furious to be seen; just a load of Mario Kart stuff and price-reduced Lightyear models in amongst the usual mainlines from earlier in the year.

Ah well. Worth checking.

This sums up another fruitless week of diecast hunting.

Had a couple of eBay bits sitting in a puddle when I got home

First up was a bunch of mainly boxed Daze Gone rubbish, but with a couple of gems hidden among them

MK2 was a variant I didn't have, and has a top tip - Lego tyres on the back for serious offroading!

The other smaller lot had a much nicer Matchbox Roadblasters Bronco

And a Majorette Sonic Blasters one too

Here's the actual car as it appeared on the 17th Coppa Liburna in 1983. It was driven to 2nd place by Dario Cerrato and Giuseppe Cerri. The car was entered by Conrero Squadra Corse/

Top is a bronco bottom one is the smaller bronco 2.

Just as a heads-up - I am planning a dawn market raid tomorrow morning, but because <<reasons>> it's gonna be a one-and-done type of thing; I won't be able to get back over at lunchtime.

Sooo... If there's anything from last week you've been mulling over and reckon you can't possibly live without, give me a holler...

With any luck I'll be able to fire up some pics while I'm over there, but I'll have to scoot on around 9.

We'll see what transpires, sure!

Right then - timings were a bit tighter this morning than I'd hoped - but I managed a very brief foray into the market, and I've got very slightly less than half an hour to get the details up here...

So the market was a bit slow to start this morning - an evening 'Twilight Market' on Tuesday and Wednesday meant that all the usual stalls had been shifted about...

But things were up and tatting over at the usual spot by 7.30.

Hmmm... not necessarily what we're here for, although...

There may be some rhinestones in the rough, if not actual diamonds.

These are pretty cheap, at £3 each - though I feel this ain't their first appearance.

Up top on the main stall, more of last week's stock - plus other new arrivals, it would seem:

We've had a few big Maisto Jaguar S-Types come through, boxed and unboxed, and this one looked ok for a tenner.

Plus a stack of vintage and classic septics in 1/24 or thereabouts:

I'm told these are more products from Franklin Mint - though there's no indication of this on bases or packaging.

Clearly, stealth luxury is the way forward.

This big Dodge Power Wagon with only one eye is a frequent flyer.

The others were mostly the dregs of the modern stuff from last week.

Mmm, dusty.

These loose models are once again priced at a fiver each - which doesn't make a lot of sense as there are boxed versions of some of them on the side table for £3.

Oh well. What's logic got to do with it?

Of course, I'd already spotted The Nemesismobile parked outside, so I knew he was in already.

He'd found some railway stuff he fancied, and soon after the boxes from last week were punted our way for further perusal:

There was nothing new in here - just all the stuff from last week.

I'd rather hoped Nemesis had also been absent last week, but no - he'd been in at 7.30 as usual and had made some plum finds.

In fact, he'd come away with rather more than I did - twenty-odd items.

Looks like he might have broken the three-figure sum barrier.

I did my best not to listen with too much green-eyed envy as he reeled off his finds, busying myself instead with the contents of the various tat boxes...

Yep, I missed out. Plainly. Though - at least I didn't have to witness it, I guess.

His finds this week didn't give me quite so many pangs - though the Bond Collection 5 Series is quite nice, I'll admit.

Other oddities were to be found dotted around the stall...

Some long-ago kiddy gift set, comprising a cheapo plastic racing car and a handkerchief?

The Irish Tat Stall had plenty of Irish Tat, true to its USP:

Plus Oxford Fizzy-Drink related models, which apparently sell pretty well....

This Hong Kong oddity was nice, if a bit pricey:

More Hot Wheels too, but only the same Premiums as before;

The Charity Stall had limited stuff of interest - other than some Rice Krispies which looked like they had indeed literally fallen off the back of a lorry, then been run over repeatedly:

Appears that Father Christmas may have become Flatter Christmas in the same incident.

The only stuff with wheels was this high quality* playset, probably off the front of a comic:

A few arrivals for me. 
Dinky Standard Atlas in decent shape.     
Corgi Escort 55 van, weirdly with solid non opening rear doors. I thought they always opened on these? This one’s for stripping and painting!    
3D printed Hot Wheels Escort replacement grills.    
Hot Wheels Chevy Chevette, which I might have a go at removing the hood scoop etc and making a standard car out of.

 

And an update on the current project’s!

Volvo 240 estate. Body is fully painted and now just hardening off indoors for a while. It’s had a few coats of Volvo green blue metallic followed by a light buff up, then a coat of clear lacquer to get a shine.    
It’s a really nice colour, especially on the rare occasion it’s sunny!

And this! 
A little project I started while waiting for supplies to arrive! 
Matchbox Chevy Nova.  Really like these, although the Nova was originally meant as a standard smaller sedan so I’ve done this one as a stock base model car in beige (nato desert tan!) with satin varnish to give it a less matt look.

 

I’ve done the interior in brown and now just need to pick out the details with a brush - lights, door handles etc etc. I’ve got a few of these so I’ll probably do some other colours too.
