Shite in Miniature II

Is it just me or is the centre bit of that LM002 far too short?

Still, for a quid it's fair enough.

Seems to be cartoonish proportions.

Matchbox have a correctly scaled one in their lineup ATM, seen it in Poundland.

Ford Van purchased today in Asda. The fact you can only get certain colours in Asda could lend it some collectible status in years to come

Bought one for my son just yesterday (Poundland, inspired by comments above). They didn't have much that appealed to me other than a green Ford Bronco.

To my utter surprise, I managed to coax this from the French:

It contains the usual half arsed mag:

Must have taken them all of half an hour to make. Oh wait, they are French, so it probably took them two weeks.

Anyway, here is the model:

However, since one can't live with just an R16, I actually got me two of them.

A breeding pair eh?  Are you trying to re-populate the wilderness that is our city streets?  Good luck!

Bought a joblot of cars which arrived whilst I was on the road

Well chuffed with the Mantas, both mint complete with aerials and mirrors!

The others I'm not to fussed about not being a Mini fan

The Nissan is funky little thing,if it's been painted then it's been done quite well

The small Welly's are sold over here for a couple of lev in most supermarkets, along with some very oddball stuff

The real reason for having two of them is that I want to "TX" one of them, if I ever find the correct wheels.

I have a 1:18 Otto 16TX with the correct wheels if you wanted to borrow it for 3D scanning and printing purposes.

I heart 1/24 partwork models. Alas I only have one, an Alfa Romeo Spider but it's damn fine.

Do you really believe I don't have one myself?

Good idea, I haven't thought about that.

However, I think there is a set in the upcoming ESCI/Italeri R5 reissue.

More shite arrived this week at FM Towers from an egay seller in Polandland, arrived in 3 days too, a pair of Skoda Estelles in 1/43 scale, and taken with my other Skoda models, nice :)

The coffin light mk1 Estelle is nice, it's one of those mag partworks, I do hope eventually they do a Garde/Rapid coupe. Abrex are a bit weird these days, saw a photo of a mk2 Fav estate on their website, but no sign of it in their catalogue, and tbh Abrex are getting pricey. Have a couple of bigger shots of the Estelles, plus my Lada collection. My camera doesn't seem to loke taking shots of white models :(

Abrex are currently somewhat defunct to all intents and purposes as the people who made everything for them seem to have shut up shop with financial issues.

Shame, we were the biggest Abrex retailer in the U.K. y'know.

It's not so much that they were pricey, more that they'd spent so long with so much stock heavily reduced that it made the standard releases look expensive when in reality the normal price stuff still sold really well.

I have an Abrex Skoda Rapid, the modern sort. Nice little thing it is too and it was cheaps.

I bought an Abrex Skoda 136 at the Prague Technical Museum. It wasn't cheap

So, is the most Autoshite of all Bond cars the one with Marina door handles that was painted metallic bronze? I do hope so.

After lurking in the attic for years, I thought it was time I took some photos of this:

It's one of the earlier AUTOart releases, and they've come on a long way since then. Still love it, though.

A new one to me. The equivalent of Tomica Hypercity or Majorette's Majo-Kit? You've got me looking at eBay now.....

Thinking of which, I recently set-up the Majo-Kit I bought off Sierraman some time ago:

We've one it's brilliant. Quite detailed actually. Much better than Hot Wheels where everything is covered in stickers.

Having said that I've been searching out the 1980's Hot Wheels lately with stuff like the Dodge Omni etc, some classic shite there.

HotWheels and those Matchbox issues are GR9 for the grandkids.    When I was a nipper a Great Uncle used to buy me Matchbox Yesteryears so I could study them and get a feel for the old stuff he knew like Blower Bentleys and Bullnose Morrises.    The little tykes are still in primary school but they know what Mk1 Escorts and Studebakers look like.

I had that Tonka set as a kid, there was also the Post Office version on ebay this week too. It arrived this morning, was £13 including shipping, and I'm well happy. Checked the contents, it's all there including the little van. Bizarrely the box states Made in Holland, and the van says Made in the USA on it's base. I'd say size wize its roughly about 0 gauge

Just builtificated the above Tonka-ness. Base is 10 inches x 8 inches, building 5 inches tall to gable.
