I remember having the Polo when I was a kid, nice clean casting in a great colour.

Great work on the Hornby Sierra quicksilver, those not familiar with the starting position might not realise the amount of work you have put in.

Thanks also to sierraman for all the pictures of the 70s and 80s Majorettes - the shop on the housing estate where I grew up stocked these and Solido, so I owned most of those pictured, although I stopped buying them at the end of the 80s. I had forgotten about the more obscure ones like the Honda Accord.

As a kid, I also had that green Polo. It was my favourite at the time I lost it on Beverley Westwood. I was devastated...

I can still remember both my school-day losses - Matchbox Ferrari racing car and the rare blue Morris Minor (No.46 by coincidence, same as JYD's Merc coupe he bought today).

I never took another one to school again.

Well over 50 years ago this was, I still feel the pain......

It was probably harder to steal a Corgi one than the real thing!

I left my Corgi Green Hornet car at the hospital when I had my tonsils out,it was replaced by a Corgi Capri Dragster which just wasn't as good  :-(

I've got the Polo in yellow with 'Turbo' down either side. Barrying was a practise known to Corgi then!

I've never seen the Majorette Range Rover before, it reminds me of the Corgi casting a bit.

Is it just me or is the centre bit of that LM002 far too short?

Still, for a quid it's fair enough.

They are so starved for newly tooled stuff outside the realms of total mainstream, that they happily will hoover up anything being released.

Especially the American kit manufacturers fail to understand, that we would kick each others heads in to get models of the 70s full size chod.

Hmmm, I wonder.  Certainly in the world of slot car stuff, I get the impression that Americans are trying to airbrush the '70s cars out of existence.  Behold my extensive choice of full size chod that you won't find anywhere else.

1972 Charger.  Because unless it's a '68 or '69 nobody is interested

charger24.jpg

Even in Petty racing spec it gets hardly any interest

IMG_20160521_124156_zpsql9q71k7.jpg

1972 Cadillac.  LA Police could have saved themselves a load of trouble in the '70s and just arrested every owner of a black Cadillac

starsky-and-caddy.jpg

1977 Pontiac LeMans

IMAG1522_1_zpsqp1bdbld.jpg

1972 Lincoln Continental and AMC Matador

Bring out a '50s car and everybody loves it because it's got chrome, tailfins and rock 'n' roll.  60s cars are tough, moody and mean.  70s cars?  Sorry, the US didn't make anything in the 1970s, they were away that decade.

It is a little stumpy. It is one of those pull back and let it go ones

I'm sure I've told you about my 1:32 coach slot car before?

Exactly this also holds true in 1:1.

And it took them ages to even start liking the finned stuff.

When I was over there in the early Eighties hoovering up everything finned and chromed, they thought I'm a total lunatic.

Thanks God they were stupid enough to sell that chod for peanuts. Now there is more of it in Europe, than they have left.

Isn't it just!  I feel a visit to Poundland coming on...

I so wish I had room for my Scalextric, I'd be ordering some of those!  I wonder how easy it would be to convert that Cadillac into a 1973 Coupe deVille?

I'm after that Mr Bean Mini. There's a Poundland near my work that usually has some good MBX in stock, got the Volvo V60 last week.

Mine has a sticker saying "Exclusively for Asda",the same as the Ford Panel & '59 Chevy posted by Junkyarddog  :-(

Damn I neeeed that 59 Chevy wagon. For obvious reasons. Off to fleabay I go.

And I've bought one for two quids and a postage bit. I did wonder why there people bidding on one and it was at £6.50 when just a bit further down the page there were several with much lower 'buy it now' prices. Possibly they is idiots.
