Onto smaller stuff now. I really like toys and models of normal, even mundane, everyday stuff. Something Majorette have been good at doing, for decades now,

They captured the little K12 Micra's curves brilliantly. Nice detail for the period too, especially the interior,

The Audi RS6 has been one of my favourite recent Matchbox releases, but didn't know it went back to 2007! I think it looks fantastic in this bright red,

Another from the peak-era of Matchbox, I didn't know they'd done a W140 SEL until Tim offered this up for sale.

I love the W140, it's a massive slab of a car (and looks like a massive 190E to my eyes), so I was pleased to get this. It came in a card and blister packaging, but it was quite "snug" in there and a look at the card revealed it was for a Matchbox R129 500SL

"Hmm, 500SL you say?"

(Roots around in the  DanBox delivered the other day...)

Card is a bit dilapidated still, but it has the right car in now at least.

More peak-era Matchbox in the shape of the Saab 9000, a fab version IMO.

A little bit of paint loss on this but it's still great and still in decent enough condition to just leave it as it is.

I'm enjoying filling in the gaps with these early '90s Matchbox. If by any chance anyone comes across a fairly nice Cavalier GSi that isn't stupid money, please hit me up as that is my '90s Matchbox holy grail

Got the two Flying Customs I needed to complete the set, I love this Nova wagon, has to be the star of the set for me,

And a few recent elusive Hot Wheels Tim kindly picked up for me, love this Civic.

At last I have the IMSA Audi!!! Tampos seem almost  perfectly done  on this one too.

Lastly, the Then & Now '18 Camaro which has eluded me for a long while. Now I have it to pair up with the '81 version

I've made a temp coupling for the wrong tractor unit while I restore the original and it looks pretty good

 

 

I think the cab with the number plate is from Corgi 1140, the TK Mobilgas Tanker.

Those Vanguards Jags are a good model, probably one of the best by them.

I like the way they darkened the grille on the earlier versions of the XJ6.

On later issues they do not do this

They also took the time to change the casting for the Daimler version.

There are various Police versions

But the best of all has to be the Silverstone V12 Fire Tender

I've not had a Vanguards Series 2 yet, but I have had teh Minichamps Series 2 Coupe. The shape is a bit iffy on this model.

The angle of teh headlamps looks wrong

and the boot lid looks too long and the side windows too tall.

It's one of those that looks good from far but is far from good.

On the Series 3 front I have an example from NEO in resin.

This is a very good model, but then for the price it is expected.

And finally the Matrix Avon Estate, another fab model, with a price tag to match.

Excellent, thank you   The only other that looked interesting was the green 806, but if it's gone when you get there, it wasn't important.  Dartford Premier Inn a week on Thursday then?

I agree, definitely one of their best. Though you have reminded me of how much want I have for the Black Tulip XJ6!

Good stuff! Make sure you show them on here so I can reassure myself that I definitely DO NOT now want a Vanguards Series 2  to go with the Series 1, and especially NOT the Coral version...

(According to a few bods on the FB Vanguards group, the Series 2 casting is actually one of the best they have done so I don't think you'll be disappointed.)

Been off here for a while and in that time I've acquired quite a few more model cars. I'm trying to slow down as I need to engage with this thing people call "saving".

Firstly, a couple of Rovers:

Secondly, a couple of Astons. The gold one is an original 1960s issued Aston that I bought locally, then I bought the figure separately and repaired the mechanisms to make them work properly as they didn't work. All now working perfectly. The second Aston is the 1960s second issue Aston when they got the colour correct. It has in addition a rotating number plate of which I acquired the plates to stick on due to them being missing.

Thirdly, a Solido 1.43 Fiesta. Bought via a group on Facebook, it's a nice looking thing.

I wouldnt reccomend buying off Facebook unless you can collect and pay in cash as I've been scammed on there trying to buy a 1/18 Sierra Cosworth, the twat decided to take my money and not send what he'd advertised. I got given a load of bull about relatives in hospital, not being given proof of postage despite asking then ignored altogether. Told my bank, they issued me with a refund and as the lad had used his own bank account and address, I was told that his bank will he'll be asking him some difficult questions.

Fourthly, Cavalier, always wanted one, found they were a tad too expensive, found a goodly priced one and purchased it:

Interestingly, the Escort is an LHD whereas the Orion is a RHD!

1.24 Scorpio. Original box, cheap and very clean even removable carboard panel of the plastic window is still in place, hence an eBay photo instead:

Just finished the1:24 Fujimi RX-7 Savanna.....

 

 

A simple kit but overall it gives a decent look. Ford Java Blue from a Halfords can, comically wide wheels and tyres from another Fujimi kit.

That Savanna has reminded me of one of my favourite Japanese makers (although their production is in China), Ebbro.

This Savanna is a typical JDM version with the big wing mirrors.

It has great detailing all round...

with a splendidly patterned interior.

Continuing with the yellow theme here's a little Honda N360

Again superb detail.

Ebbro also do modern stuff as seen with this Honda Insight.

I do it occasionally still. The other week I put a glove on the hand I was holding the paint in and not the other, looked like I'd been getting my nails done

I’ve got one of the Corgi Jag mk2’s. Found it in a box with a load of junk, I remember being pretty pleased to find it! 
can’t remember which box it’s in now though as I can’t remember how complete it is. Everything is getting packed up for moving. 
Another nice casting, but a shame it wasn’t issued as a standard road car.

That kind of looks like one of those tiny little trucks the Navy used around dockyards and stuff! I can’t remember what they were called though. They were all dark blue from memory with tiny little wheels.

Back from getting sunburnt in Yarmouth.  Various partworks rescued from a box full of all sorts for a whole pound each on request 

Discovered these Majorette Tune Ups in one of the arcades where we were staying, managed to acquire a few partly due to an error in my favour meaning I ended up with 10x the number of tickets getting added onto the loyalty card thing they use to keep track of them. No idea how that happened!

First one I got was random but a look online reveled there's a code on the box that gives away the contents like a Hot Wheels Mystery Model

This was the initial one

Inside the pack you get the car, a display case, two or three "tuning" parts, poster of all the cars, sometimes a sticker, and a collectors chip with stats.

Due to too many beers I got two the same, but the ones I got are pretty good - most of them look better without the plastic bits!
