Sometimes when you’re going through these bulk boxes you find some true horrors. Piss poor repaint jobs, damage that is inexcusable, even ugly models.

But then once in a while you find something that surpasses all that and will give you nightmares for weeks to come.

Like this!

Did you imply Lone Star bonnet reproductions are in the works?

There's a guy who makes reproduction Lone Star bits (including a Firenza) but he's not easy to pin down - he supplied the booms for the Transit a while back, one of which went to @Datsuncog- he's also the hoarder of the blue Husky Cadillacs some may remember?

Ah yes I was going to ask about the Firenza man the other day.  Did they become available outside of the FB group.  Wasn't there a conversion to the casting done as well?  Estate?

I am after a Lone Star Zephyr bonnet

And a Husky Eldorado but unlikely to afford his hoarded examples

Corgi Rockets/Husky for spares

20230205_130627.thumb.jpg.1218e18c98b36b62a2a47c0ff0463bd5.jpg

If that is a real Husky and not a Corgi interim (looks like it with those wheels) then I'd be willing to save it rather than see it broken.  I have glazing and wheel spares somewhere.  It's unusual to have survived with the bonnet.  Unlike the Rocket on the left

This. Solido. nice little model actually, got a few chips but it’s not bad at all. Not my thing really though.

Yes it's awful and makes the Pronto Cruizer look happy.  Consider that Solido sold

While on the subject of wheels

Have mentioned before in the Dan Sale thread I'm sure, I would consider borked donors with either Husky metal wheel types

In fact, if any of you have sets in your spares buckets of the wheel types and do not want them any more please let me know.  I've made a decision to go pre-Whizzwheels on some Corgi as the aversion to Whizzwheels has been re-awakened.  Never liked them even as a kid

It is a days gone CA. A few chips and a bit grubby but otherwise very good.

That's lush and I think you should keep it.

Put it up on a shelf in pride.  Every die-cast collector must have at least one Days Gone.  It's the rules.

Days Gone are now the future.  Rebrand coming called: Days Ahead.

Even I have a DG CA!  Also an LD, in fact a couple.  I also have three (I think) of that Solido Fiat van, due to having a long-held soft spot for rear-engined Fiats.

I've already forgotten the brand but there were two different versions of this on one stall

20230205_120022.thumb.jpg.4abb7c24ef8e35375a47601c5da38414.jpg

Originally a Tekno, this must be a Kirk version (as discussed previously in this thread) which I didn't know existed, as Kirks were marketed as things you could dismantle and, er, mantle. Casting later taken on by Pilen and Joal, as mentioned above.

He had a loose Tekno as well! That’s what we were groping  when the trader produced the boxed example.

This isn’t the Atlas repro but the real thing! Missing a hook it has a really good Bedford cab but did all detail underneath.

That thing is odd, not a casting I'm familiar with - looks really good from the top but is all one piece with no separate base. Reminds me of the Qualitoys range they did later.

Good spot on those two though!

I've also never seen that before, but it must be the source of the Galanite Bedford I had when I was a kid

The Bedford TK is Dinky 434. It came in a couple of different colour ways, and with various combinations of wheel colour

One of yesterday's finds was this Matchbox Turbo 2 with a wonky wheel, but with a full complement of tyres.

I have this one from a car boot sale last summer sans tyres!

I almost never find anything in the ‘charidy’ shops near us, today was an exception however. Recentish matchbox at 50p each.

@bunglebus found these spares cars in the big mystery box. Any good?

BMW & Mustang are in a bad way paintwise, I’m not sure they’re much good at all really. Capri is good except one wheel is mangled! Griffo is good but missing a door.

@Dick Longbridge I couldn’t find any of the Mercury Commuter wagons in this lot, but there’s more coming later in the week so I’ll keep an eye out.
However I did find this Cougar Villager wagon? It’s pretty nice really, tow hitch is broken but that’s about all that’s wrong.

Wouldn't say no to the Griffo then I can try and fix two cars. Think I've got an earlier Mustang with clear glass as a donor for the Superfast one thank you

Capri looks good, sure someone will put their hand up - and the paint on the BMW is epic!

No probs! I’ll keep that Griffo for you. It’s a freebie if you want it!

Yes, that BMW has certainly been given the treatment alright😆

They didn't have a tow hitch,That's the later release plenty of green ones but the later blue version isn't as common.

Your right! I’ve just checked the one in my own collection and it’s the same. I thought that little yellow bit on the rear bumper was a hitch - obviously not! In that case then it’s fine😄

No,I think it's there to provide a bit of support to the tailgate to keep it closed.
