Latest delivery. Another 'original Pilen' ticked off the list. This is another particularly nice one (although they are all lovely, really) - the Seat 850 Spider in fetching metallic green.

Lots of play value with this one, which has opening everything, tilting seats, a decent representation of the engine and supple suspension. The wheels have Seat hubcaps and rubber tyres - even the fuel filler cap is a separatepart. I think there are 25 components making up this tiny toy.

There is a slight issue with the base casting....

20220425_135400.thumb.jpg.027074b5d8b3cc156e300943281eea60.jpg

But hey, nobody's perfect. Here it is with its Coupé brother. Just need a saloon now for the set.

20220425_135500.thumb.jpg.8bacb87afde07e2b398645c6225b823e.jpg

And with a 'normal' Pilen to show the titchy size (it's about 8.7cm long)

20220425_135545.thumb.jpg.3d52658f044de69dfca934247e7d6d74.jpg

Overall, excellent and an one I'm very pleased to add to the non-collection. But then I always say that. As ever with these Pilens, the lack of casting lines is clearly evident and the paint is a wonderful lustrous metallic which looks great but I'm sure is very fragile.

Mercury made a series one Fiat 850 Spider which goes for huge money, but I'd love one to compare the two.

I need to get a picture of them next to each other now.

I popped into One Below yesterday after seeing your post. Only the MG and Alfa got my attention and I picked up the Beetle incase it was of interest to @bunglebus?

Yes please 😁

Found some C cells for the tumbling buggy. All is not well, gears may be stripped as it makes noises but doesn't drive. Headlights work though

Nothing new in my favourite charity shop other than this Kai Yip Porsche 928. I quite like that the bumpers are part of the window section, would look good with a couple of LEDs inside I reckon

Had a spare Husky VW single cab pickup

Husky Volkswagen pickup custom

So I thought I'd give it a makeover, the blue windows reminded me of a well known UK custom one

Volksworld 2019 118

So black it was to be. Closest match to the Fuchs wheels was early Superfast, sanded down to reduce their overall diameter as they have rather a lot of sidewall.

Not 100% happy with the detailing on this one but in my defence it is really tiny!

More info please-

I had a large  black plastic one. It had a battery powered motor in it. The internet shows me that it was made by a company called Victory Industries.

I’ll have to root it out, it’s orange and where the diff is there’s a hole for oil and it’s got a sort of friction motor? From about the early sixties possibly.

Someone in Entertainer was bored and sorted all the Hot Wheels out

That's the kind of thing I might have done when it was quiet, back in my Halfords days... I liked the place to look tidy (uphill battle).

Our Hot Wheels only came as a single mixed box once in a blue moon; they just went onto clip-strips hung near the till, rather than having their own designated peg space. So there were never more than two or three of each model at a time.

Generally they were bought by bored staff members to launch off the parts desk while closing up...

Dinky Streamlined Fire Engine. When I was a small child I broke the ladder once and the bell came off. My dad soldered everything back together. I have since lost the bell.

Scotoshiters: Tesco in Ayr have now stocked up on Matchbox. Grabbed myself a Civic and a Lexus. :D

Same story slightly further south. Hadn't looked for a couple of weeks but it was worth the trip today. Wasn't too bothered about the Golf or Civic very much but they happened to be there too.

New Team Transport sets in Smyths. I think they're £14.99, not bad for two Premiums but none that enticed me to purchase
