Yeah I'm always sorting more out, just got a lot of real-life stuff going on, most inconvenient!

Thought of another steering Matchbox, the Ford Kennel Truck

Still no Moving Parts at all, though - nor any Working Rigs.

Stop the bus.

Just so happened to be ambling through Castle Court this evening, and thought I'd cast my eye over The Entertainer's wares just in case they'd anything new in since last week, and - bingo.

Four newish Working Rigs on the pegs - of which I grabbed the International Box Van, and the MAN dropside with HIAB.

I was less interested in a large yellow Volvo BM (?) grader and some sort of agricultural machine in blue which I didn't get a good look at (hey, I was in a hurry).

Even better, when I got to the till there appeared to be some sort of 10% discount applied, so these worked out at £4.50 each.

Their mainlines are still those wretched early 2023 mixes, but hey - good to see some new stuff coming through.

Planning to go to a toy fair in Walberton West Sussex on Sunday, not been to this venue before as it's about 55 miles away. I just wondered if anyone else was thinking of going? @danthecapriman it can't be more than 25-30 miles from you if you haven't moved yet maybe? Or anyone else in that area?

Im moving a few days after though by the looks of things so guess what I’ll be doing between now and then!?😆

I hate packing so much I’m actually tempted to just scoop everything into the bin and just buy new later!

Oh don’t worry, all the toy cars are already packed! It’s all the other crap that’s left like furniture and clothes. All stuff you can do without!😄

Lovely model. Big, as to be expected! I just need to find some 1:43 plant equipment for the back of these.

Here's some more from my auction lot from last week.

A small pack of Husky's.

Guy Warrior Milk Tanker.

DSCF5597.JPG.96617c68a9b16252da211e988bccb35c.JPG

There are two versions of this. I think this is the earlier version with the rounded tank. The other version has a squarer tank.

S & D Refuse Van

DSCF5599.JPG.dfad5192198e52cdebea69cb95f71996.JPG

The back still works but there's a lot of rubbed off chrome

Simon Snorkel.

DSCF5601.JPG.b41ed72a2bebdd191e18ad5386a0d5ef.JPG

Again lots of wear and the middle joint of the snorkel is loos so it will not stay up on its own.

DSCF5602.JPG.ecd05f6a99cff0b87c966517f4885cae.JPG

Two VW Pick Up trucks with conveyors.

DSCF5603.JPG.a13c6e0c74a4b78b2ed17f824b033923.JPG

One red and one yellow. Both conveyors have gone hard and no longer convey.

DSCF5604.JPG.462f9721eff40e8a45222844a9bcede1.JPG

Finally a Jeep, a Willys Jeep. This is a slightly larger scale then the rest. It has a missing screen.

DSCF5605.JPG.071a3659cb5b8fa8d0def1ea54a14bb0.JPG

and the tow hook has been damaged.

DSCF5606.JPG.7a43f3c008cdd9fc563acf903bef8b53.JPG

It does have separate tyres and a metal base.

DSCF5607.JPG.12365e40a179b9eb92cc29d88f3b60f3.JPG

All the others have the more familiar chrome plated plastic base the incorperates the suspension.

Four wheel drive! Working headlights! Except...it did nothing at all with the AAs inserted. Hmm. Took the base off, bridged the switch, poked about - nothing. Then while I was pondering what else to try, it burst into life. BEHOLD:

Isnt it just the shonkiest thing ever? It transmits power to the front axle, which in turn powers the rear by a driveshaft. Life expectancy of the plastic gears, about an hour

I thought I recognised those wheels

Here is a VW LT effort that was also sprunged into life

20210311_180623093_iOS.jpg

It does this quite happily

The mechanism on this one is quieter though, the main racket is a cam flicking the light circuit on and off

The screeching banchee racket on yours will be dry motor bearings.  Pop a spot of light oil into the motor can (each end, not onto the windings)and let it work in.

Just remembered I had that LT effort set up to be a 'Jam Car' as Ideal/TCR would say, on the Scalextric Digital set (when it was set up)

Drilled a small 3mm hole at centre of front axle line and threaded a short piece of plastic rod tight in there, giving it a guide for the track slot

After greasing the polythene worm gears, I then had it driving about doing circuits on its own, while two cars raced about and had to dodge it.  With a Digital set, you can switch lanes you see

Well, it stopped me going to the pub.

All this floor driving has reminded me of the New Bright Honk Kong 1:20 scale W116 Mercedes Benz 450 SE

It looked like this

IMG_1807.JPG.f6e44cf887702d30cf15966af41466ec.JPGIMG_1812.JPG

It had a drive mechanism of chaos

IMG_1814.JPG.3ea8309a9a222f8109049a71f65eaff0.JPG

And a mechanical switch to flash the headlights and not only that they lit up the wings as well

IMG_1816.JPG.0c1dd1514e0de230e87e70ef0631c085.JPG

And darted about the floor like this

Then it got sold

I suspect the motor was stuck, which is why it didn't work initially. The far East shonk doesn't end there though. Got a smattering of no-names in the post, I think these are Summer but I don't know for sure

I already have examples of the Aspen Ski Holidays and "BORD" which is quite amusing. Don't think the others are cribbed from anywhere but I could be wrong
