Just a few I’ve hoarded over the last few weeks!

My love of Corgi Major trucks is gradually getting me the complete set! I’ve got every type of Carrimore car transporter now, just a couple of colour variations outstanding!

The broken Ford H wrecker and the yellow Mack are likely going to be combined together somehow for my Ford H tractor unit project.

Kingsize Dodge Charger is actually the second one of these I’ve got now. This one’s really nice and their such good looking models I couldn’t put this one back so it came home with me, and the Dinky Volvo Amazon!

Oh no, now I want one of those Chargers and a Volvo and a Mack truck and....

This thread should have a health warning, it's DANGEROUS!

Last weekend I visited four big stores in a couple of towns, this was all I ended up with:

IMG_4353.thumb.JPG.c74921dfeaed30da3e46dcaee8c3fbec.JPG

507 from Morrisons, the other two from B&M. They also had the F&F range, but I couldn't justify spending too much there.

Birthday gifts:

I hadn't been able to find the Civic myself, so that was good. Have since seen some in a Tesco. Gold Silvia was a new one to me (I think I already have the white/yellow and black versions).

Making progress on the Fujimi RX-7:

IMG_0305.thumb.JPG.afdb01addee6f11b5df9f982913ee387.JPG

In the end I went for Ford Java Blue and clearcoat from Halfords cans. Needs a final polish.

Local auction house has some interesting lots coming up - looks like mostly boxed stuff including a load of 007 partworks. They don't show pics for many of the listings but these came up

Trying to be a bit sensible at the moment, I deliberately avoided the Brentwood toy fair yesterday. Might be some stuff worth flipping here though

And a belated Happy Birthday @Spottedlaurel!!

Chocolate isn’t a bad alternative to diecasts!😆

Just won another job lot off eBay…🤪 despite saying I’d give it a rest for a bit!

So you know what this means!…

Pics on the listing weren’t great, most look like small scale Matchbox/Corgi Jr size, but there are some bigger ones there too. Just have to wait & see exactly what turns up.
Tbh, I bid on it for a couple of small scale ones for my own collection. It seems much better getting them this way than buying them as individual’s at the stupid eBay prices.

Seeing that old blue DS a few pages back (could it be a Morestone?), reminded me of some nice coach built DS models that Norev did. I'm sure there are a lot of fans of the Corgi Citroen Le Dandy I thought I'd post up these from the Norev Ligne e Noire series. All these are plastic bodied, but th edetail is excellent. They also come with a small leaflet describing the car, obviously in French though.

Had to nip to the local 'small' Asda to pick up an online order for the Mrs. To my surprise, there were some new case Hot Wheels to be found! Alas no Escorts, Mercs or Audis, but one or two I had been after.

A very J-tin heavy selection, this one...

This was the big prize for me, it's a cracker! A nice contrast to the bog stock Matchbox version. (And yes, I do like the mods on this one, especially the rims. Sorry...). I've already got one of these in a Cogbox (TM) so I can unbox this one and have a fondle!

Quite a clever touch to have the driving lights glazed, using the tinted glass of the glazing unit.

IMG_20230415_231512.thumb.jpg.b1e3fc5354937f219e88a77081f4e0f0.jpg

And a couple of Yanks, I'm quite partial to the modern Camaro, though I think the bigger rear wheels and arches spoil the lines a bit.

Just been round my first car boot in ages. Mostly junk. The prices on some of the stuff was comical ‘because I’ve Googled them’ 😆.

Also this old crank and pedals which I will polish up and hopefully make a couple of quid?

Is that TA or Stronglight? Think I have the same on my Roberts, probably have some quill pedals too somewhere. If the pedals are Campag, I sold mine on ebay for lots of £s some years ago so a good buy!

Just been round my first car boot in ages. Mostly junk. The prices on some of the stuff was comical ‘because I’ve Googled them’ 😆.

Couldn’t leave empty handed so picked up the below for 50p each:

I like that. I wonder if it's supposed to be based on a Porsche 928?

It looks like would originally had a key to insert underneath - same as my van. I was given mine by my first girlfriend in primary school - the toy, whilst no longer in its prime, has lasted much longer than the relationship!

Does anyone know more about the manufacturer?

I like those, very odd. I'd say 100% Porsche 928

Talking of which, have some bare metal shots of my current projects

Here are the 2 Audis I picked up. Let me know if anyone wants one. I don't want anything for them.

I've finally finished the Mini Magnifandango and pretty pleased with it...

IMG_6521.thumb.JPG.f768806111cba4520c08a26ea2373426.JPG

I reduced the track a bit and as can be seen it does fit on the transporter as I wanted

IMG_6522.thumb.JPG.ccdfe64178af8326958321dbb06b19b0.JPG

The axles cut quite easily with side cutters. I used Araldite on the ends as with the wheels and spacers fitted on the axles I couldn't fit them in the vice to try whacking with a ball pein hammer...

Bumpers are from a bit of sprew bent around and the grill is a cut down Airfix 1/32 Cooper...IMG_6524.thumb.JPG.39aadf568615cd566246c8e8250701a7.JPG

It would have been better if I hadn't dropped a basterd file on the top of the front wing, doesn't show too much...IMG_6525.thumb.JPG.d9e66c94e9ef8f1f62bcc0589eeef133.JPG

Thanks to everyone who suggested how to modify the axles and use the rattle cans in cold weather, heating the cans in hot water made all the difference to the finish...

The paint is actually quite turquoise IRL and not too far from Surf Blue.

Now I'd like your suggestions for painting some more toys as I'm sticking with my original idea of using only paint I have already to produce budget restorations.

Colours are;

Red as in the Corgi Austin Seven (MIni) I showed earlier

Light blue as Corgi Moris Mini Minor

Yellow as Corgi Mini Countryman

Turquoise as in the Magnifandango above

Orange

Dark blue

White

Black

Pale mauve Tamiya spray colour

Cars are as follows;

Corgi Mini Van, was a Police van and originally I wanted to do this in the Pea green of the standard Corgi van, I did have one, but only have the base left somehow! It's in primer already

Corgi Mercedes I got from Dan, a lovely model and too good to leave as it is as not really suitable for display in this condition

Corgi Fiat 1800 I got at the Toy Fair a couple of weeks ago, I really like it for some reason

Dinky HA Viva I've had since childhood, but not from new. I was metalic blue, but had been covered in what looked like felt pen and then I painted it Humbrol white. It really was hard to strip off and even after 3 weeks is not completely bare.

What do you all think?

Merc would look good in black if you can do all the chrome detail.

Molotow pen/polishing bumpers if they're part of the base.

Paint can be found fairly cheaply though, usually plenty at boot sales and in those hardware/general junk shops

I use paint stripper from B&Q or Wilko, seen Nitromors on offer in Lidl or Aldi too, what did you use on the Viva? Those cars I just posted went in the stripper for 24 hours and it all came off, I usually give it several days to be sure

I was going to ask about chrome as lots of my toys have the plated plastic which has gone yellow so I'll check out Molotow pens thanks.

We haven't got any proper boot sales here at the moment as the ground is too wet, they usually start over Easter. Anyway at the moment it's kind of a point of principal to do budget restos not a lack of funds as you'll see when I post what I've bought on ebay haha!

Yes I've used Nitromors and the B&Q stuff and it's been fine. I used the same stuff as for the Viva on a Corgi Capri, Dinky Escort, Corgi Mini Countryman the Corgi Magnifandango and the Corgi Mini van and all came clean within an hour! Just that blasted Viva wouldn't haha!
