I wonder where they get the figures from for these things. Is it just blind optimism or just chancing their arm?

I would suggest it's someone who has not bothered their arse to do some research before advertising it.

Here's the blurb for your delectation.

To be fair, it is an 'amazing item'. I'm assuming she's already received some messages suggesting her price may be out by around £49.99.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and abandon all notion of being politically correct and say that Natasha is not of the demographic to have a fucking clue what she is talking about on this particular subject.

Not posted in ages, because while hundreds of die cast buses have arrived since before Christmas, no cars.

Until now. And an unusual one for me, both in scale and manufacture.

Mrs CSW's Disco 3 has been in the garage for nearly two weeks, so thought I would buy her a model to remind her that she still owns one.

Its the only one I could find in the same colour. Same spec too.

20230201_180213.thumb.jpg.015e66104c766800dfdd39b8e41adf6e.jpg

Never bought in this scale before or had something from Britain's.

Must say, its pretty good. Very good likeness. Im impressed.

I've got a whacking great collection of Britain's farm stuff, and didn't even know they'd did this. I think it must have only been in their catalogues for a short period (Britain's often only did a short production run on some vehicles). The old Discovery 1 model they did often had a horrifically deformed front bonnet edge which ruined the look of the rest of the model. The Freelander Hippo was nice though.

FFS.  I haven't seen stock like that since early 2021.  That's like the end of a rainbow, that lot

It's only 50 miles from here, how can they get distribution SO WRONG

The demographic that allows themselves extremely easy to dox.  Shocking, really.  Even found out home address without trying and can confirm the front lawn turf is of the artificial variety, in case we were in doubt

Bedford CA van

You win!

I made an cheeky offer, it was accepted, then I fell into pit of despair.  The box has been discarded, out of shame.  I'm going to have to repackage it a Lesney or summat if it goes into storage

It is smaller than the Morris LD!  Which is the only other Odell EnoG SyaD that is here.

IMG_20230202_105957_3.thumb.jpg.38b21d1073d1e15694ca03a0717bfe14.jpg

I thought it would be same scale :( as the Morris, which is 1:48, but the Bedford measures to approx 1:53.

IMG_20230202_105925_3.thumb.jpg.ce0a7cef00d99acc216b4a11f334d694.jpg

So had to fiddle with the perspective to get a photo together, which put the Morris out of focus.  Gits.

IMG_20230202_110031_2.thumb.jpg.6b4f45879bcb2068a724caecbf492644.jpg

Still nice though.  I think?  Help me, here.

Nothing new in Smyths or Entertainer - other than these. Can't see them flying off the shelves at £21 though

They had a Hot Wheels delivery yesterday but someone bought the whole sealed box. I asked if they return the ones they don't want but apparently not - who knows what they do with all the generic cars and endless Batmobiles

Similar story in one of my local Tescos

20230202_165448.thumb.jpg.2f6f3f9fbc2a9ceac836bd159895dd11.jpg

Prices for those keeping track are £2.00 for Hot Wheels and £1.50 for Matchbox. Sainsbury's was £2.30 earlier today for HW

My Matchbox from Müller were €1.99 each, about right if Germany's fuel prices were anything to go by!

Nobody is going to pay £21. Another example of how clueless the marketing team are in the U.K.

Positive spin on it now, at least it’s available in Morrison’s, Tesco and B&M so that’s a start... just need to get those big displays they have in Target in the US

Some DG are worth having and sort after, especially the limited editions, just depends on the subject.

And talking of Morris LD vans, the Vitesse (sometimes sold under the City brand) ones are quite good.

No that's what I'm doing when I win the lottery - buying every one I can and destroying them. Then the survivors might be worth something

This was waiting for me when I got home. I've pondered for a while about trying to get one of the Hot Wheels Collectors cars - then this one was announced last year so I went for it...

Model Collector once made the mistake of including them in their price guide, it was just a sea of £1-2 values on boxed ones. My gripe with them, similar to @Split_Pin is that they were touted as some big collectors item, the next big valuable despite probably 90% of them that were made are still gathering dust in (delete as appropriate) dead old men’s flats/charity shops/car boot sales/former miners who invested in them in the late 80’s.

At Xmas time a relative mentioned they had some old valuable cars, my interest piqued I took a look at the pictures they happened to have with them. Tact and having to spend the following several hours with them prevented me from telling them they weren’t worth the space they’d take up in the bin.

I'd prefer to build a great fire with them on a hillside. Everyone would cheer when they saw the big flaming Lledo beacon.

Except Natasha.

Not Tesco, just been.  No singles HW or MB whatsoever and this was all there was.  Big store too, a 'Tesco Extra'

Been in a few junk shops today and this plastic Muscle car caught my eye, at first I thought it was meant to be a T-Bird, but having looked through my book of muscle cars I leaning towards a 67 Olds Cutlass. Anyone know what the model is?

IMG_6018.thumb.JPG.1403b73553a04d749aae9d3d55ee44cc.JPG

Another place had a few Matchbox size that looked nice, but I know nothing about that scale of toy, but took some pics in case anyone is interested

These seem to be between £2 & £4, no idea if this is reasonable or not. The Corgi Marlin was really nice and I’d like it, but no where to put it plus we have a blue one with trailer and kayaks in the summer house.

I think the yellow and orange lorry (Bedford maybe?) was £10 which seamed dear to me.

IMG_6021.thumb.JPG.740222a2cd2825830e8ba4b3fa762897.JPG

This box was on the floor so maybe cheaper?

IMG_6022.thumb.JPG.80dafeb45786a08d43230915783e390b.JPG

We are likely to be back to this shop soon so if anyone is interested in anything, let me know

Lastly @Datsuncog I’m aware I’ve owed you money for the green C4 for a few weeks. I kind of thought as you have one put by for me I’d see if anything came up on Tat Friday if you don’t mind. However I was out last Friday and tomorrow will be driving to and from Norwich so again probably not available. Could I ask if you see any more C30s cheap, then get them for me even if they’re gold?

However if you’d like me to pay for the C4 now, please let me know.
