Trigger's Mk3 Cortina

As per the title.

Pre-81, large enough engine to be comfortable on a long trip and, after the Kadette sale, probably around £2000-£2500.

Feel free to tell me to piss off Trig but I like spending other people's money.

I'll start with this.

But I think it may be too long.

Have you lot got excess to my ebay watch list! I want to spend up to £2500, needs to be under 187" long and not toooo far from Suffolk.

Any experiences you have with the cars (what to look for etc) is also welcome!

Oh and pre 1981 Pete!

Trigster why has it got to be under 187" and older than '81? I think you should get yourself a Rover SD1, fits all your criteria if you went for a series 1 and at 185" you'll have room to spare.

There's some great suggestions so far, that Mk1 Granada is top of my want list, it's only up the road as well but it's 180" long so i don't know if it would fit my garage plus i have tight driveway into my garden so again I'm sure if it's too wide. :-(

There's loads of early 80's cars i want but there's this classic car run called the ipswich to felixstowe

run will is brilliant but only allows pre 1981 cars to entry.

The Rover SD1 is also a good call but again same problem as the Granada.

To get more boot space in a 2CV, you could fit a 'bumpy' bootlid. Can you not just do the same thing with your garage door? ;)

I've seen it done! We added 4"to a mates garage with some 4x2 and a healthy dose of bodgery.

Now that Mantas more like it, sadly it's over budget though. I do like Volvo Amazon's and Triumph Dolomite's as well, I'm only 31 so it's got to suit a youngish person as well!
