Father Ted Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Washed and polished the C8, dressed the tyres and other bits of black rubber including the under bonnet hoses.Washed and polished the Pageant (well the 3/4 not covered by the awning)The Micra sat and watched me and sulked.
Mr Lobster Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Toledo - Washed, drove 400 miles yesterday, needs washing again. R4 van - nothing. Did enough last weekend Sprinter - emptied some of the rubbish out of the back R4 GTL - carried on tidying bits and pieces, waiting for parts to arrive. Going to have a look at the osr q/panel to see what can be done with the paint to make it look nicer today. Wondering whether to fit some spotlights.
Cavcraft Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Sorted various piddly things on the BMW, took the Cortina for a few drives and fitted the airhorns and just cleaned all three of the fleet. Sadly I have not been arsed to do anything with the Vespa which has a puncture that needs fixing prior to MOT and riding again.

MK5 Escort Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Bought the Kangoo van as described last week for £250, following the other chap given first refusal not bothering to show up. Bad for him, good for me...! My first 'scrapyard save' as such. The first task was to throw six months tax on it. Brought it home. Given a good wash and light polish which removed a fair few scratches and brought much of the paintwork back up after being rather flat. Sadly uncovered a bit more rust on the driverside sill than I’d expected... Doubt that will get through it's October MOT without work. 'Bumper cared' the bumpers and now look less than half they’re age, I’d say. Given the steel wheels a damn good scrape and scrub. Considering taking them off and giving them a blowover with some old steel wheel spray I have, but can’t be bothered today. Scrubbed up the interior which has come up very nicely and washed out the back. Found £2.63 in change and a brass tap under the passenger seat. Lobbed a new battery on following it’s slow turnovers and now starts pretty much first turn of the key. One problem solved! Just got to replace the spare tyre on it now and maybe source a radio at the same time. No doubt a visit to a scrappy soon. Roll on Sunday for ‘Chumley’!
mk1_4dr Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Saturday was spent cleaning, polishing and 'detailing' the Prelude. Still some to do, so it'll get the same next Saturday before Cholmondeley on Sunday, but it is gettting there now. Spent all Sunday at work so no bank holiday drinking fun for me, but meh, I was never that bothered about drinking anyway....
daverapid Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Extended my Skoda storage at the barn.....and did the washing up at home!
dollywobbler Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Took a load of rubble to the tip in the Scimitar, painted the 2CV's wheels, had a bit of a drive in the Saab and just collected a minibus as I'm on school run duty tomorrow. VW LT 95s have sod all power. Getting up some of the hills is going to be slow work.

BMC Dan Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Removed several thousand kamakaze insects off the front of the Cambridge then blezzed up to Woburn Abbey yesterday for the first day of the Bedfordshire Classic Motor show (actually a Greenwood promotions event is disguise, a bargain £8 each to get in due to not booking in on time ). Not a bad day out though with plenty of rammle on display, photos will be up shortly.
Shep Shepherd Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 In between working and sleeping, I managed to finish polishing The Volvo. Picture to follow once I've blacked-up the bumpers and trim

Not 1 acquisition. Baah What a shame. I drove the Sirion to Amberloup (near Bastogne) and back for a family weekend on a camping (bah), haven't seen much shite except for a gorgeous DKW Junior... stood in a tiny ex-showroom with two Golfs, not for sale.
Volksy Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I had to get myself home from Switzerland, the contract I was working for out there ended, not on the best of terms, so managed to hitch a ride back to Ashford with a rival company, the journey turned into the longest Job interview I've ever had, but looking like I have a contract for next winter... From Ashford, I managed to blag the last train into London, with a few other people who were based out in Suisse. From there we went in our separate directions, all broke, to see how far we could get. Myself and a very drunk Kiwi - 8 hours as a passenger with a bottle of Vodka - meant that we were stuck in London for the night. Not really knowing anyone there myself we tried to get to Wimbledon, as the Kiwi knew some people living there, only to be ejected of the tube at edgeware road - it shut. So we wandered aimlessly around with all our stuff until we arrived at Marble Arch. Jumped the fence into Hyde Park and tried to find somewhere to sleep. Luckily after avoiding security patrols we found a Marquee used for the wedding celebrations. Bedding down for the night on carpeted floor was quite unexpected! Thanks Kate and Will! Waking up at 6am, we found our way to McDirtalds - along with most of the other homeless people in the area. Taking a tip from a lady with bags, we collected discarded coffee cups for the stickers, which soon provided us with a morning brew! I thankfully had saved one message on my phone credit for such like emergencies, so a kind mate supplied me with a ticket courtesy of National Express back to Leeds. Very Very glad to be home! But quite an adventure!
Luxobarges_Are_Us Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Got the tyres sorted (complete with OMG CRACKED WHEEL worries), and the headlight bulb went just after, so I got a new one from Maplin. Not bad for a weekend staying at a mate's place in London. Volksy, the first train on a major route like London-Leeds is probably early enough to save you having to sleep rough or pay a fortune for a hotel. Can see a bit of a problem with waking people up at 2:30 am, tho...

Conrad D. Conelrad Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Broke garage door. Car trapped inside so I just fretted about personal finances instead.
chaseracer Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Managed to avoid most of the list suggested by Domestic Management. Painted and pinstriped the Blingo's wheels instead. Dyane still asleep in garage...
Lord Sterling Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Rover 820e - Washed, T-cut and polished. Micra - Washed and polished. x3 Sterlings - still sitting around waiting to die/get repaired/left asleep. meggersdog Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 The Discovery ran out of tax on Sunday so this gave me an excuse to go down the field and fire up the mighty Maestro.Parked on a small piece of hard standing for over two months doesn't seem to bother the Maestro. It fired up with no hesitation and after a good wash and light polish I've been trundling about in it.Need to use this car more often as it's fapping ace.
