ROOTES SPOTS - New year crap pics.

I reckon that Toledo (is it a Toledo or are they called 1300's? I get confuzzled) looks ace. Not to everyones taste no doubt but I like it (unless the driver has the Union Jack on it because of his EDF links).

The Roof had a check pattern on it before the union jack - for no other reason than the fact that kids dropped something on it as the owner drove under a bridge. Its covering up the damage the little scrotes caused. All pics before / after roof change here

Has to be said, I prefer the Union Jack as it goes well with the red (when did I turn into a gay)?

Great pictures! Some of those look like they have been there for a long time.

Black Escort MK3 and Yellow Fiesta MK1 are my favourites.

God, imagine how satisfying it would be power-washing and then polishing the yellow fezza....mmmm

Agreed, that Mk1 Fezza would be awesome to put back on the road again :D

MKI Fiestas are the latest Ford to leap up in price, they have taken their time to get there (probably cause they're FWD) but they are there now. Wonderful little cars that run on fresh air and are fun to drive.

Agreed 100%. I really miss not seeing hundreds about every day.

What a wonderful old Commer Karrier bus, can't be many of these 50's Rootes commercial variants around now.

Posted

That Commer van in your previous update looks quite solid. Front edge of the roof doesn't seem to show obvious signs of the usual disintegration.

AUTOSHITE - Your "no parking" signs are not our concern.

Wow thats a plush interior innit, I'd love to spend 8 hours a day in there

That D series WAS luxury in its day. The Thames Trader it replaced had such a big steering wheel you HAD to feed it through your hands or you would smash yer knuckles on the windscreen.

Posted

D series is fantastic. They always remind me of the those die cast models you built and painted yourself, anyone else remember them?
