TODAY on 12th July 1906 the driver of a bus lost control descending Handcross Hill (now part of the A23). The passengers were a party of firemen from St Mary Cray and many were knocked out by the branches of the tree before it crashed with the loss of 10 lives. Others were injured by shards of the standard glass fitted to the windows. The whole of the top deck was destroyed.  The inquests were held at the Red Lion in Handcross. The subsequent enquiry found that no one was responsible  but questions in parliament led to calls for legislation on the design of motor-coaches and the maintenance of busy roads. It remains the worse motor-fatality in Sussex history.

@hairnet / @Conan is it too late to send the Mazda back?

Why exactly would hairnet experience something he can readily do at home?

yeah any vehicle that was active during/past 1981 or so will still be on the DVLA to this day :) (so most cars made in the late 70's and onwards are still on the DVLA today, as most did survive past 1981)

(the DVLC was formed and computerised in 1974, so any vehicle registried after/during October 1974 will have been computerised from the get go however at some point in time, vehicles which had been stuck on the computer but where untaxed/inactive between 1974 and roughly 1981 where archived off the system and dont show up on the DVLA checker today sadly)

and of course anything was inactive before 1974 obviously wont be on the DVLA computer in the first place unless it was specifically stuck there before 1983ish (which is when they stopped converting RF60/VE60's to V5's wholesale so to speak)

Thailand? Or Vietnam or Laos or somewhere like that looking at the writing. And fairly recently looking at the QR code on the advert. Where on earth are you finding these? Wanted to give it extra likes but can't. Keep up the good work.

Even with the recent upgrades it's not the safest stretch in the country. Weighbridge is still at the top tho.

Hordern Road, Wolverhampton, January 1986

It's interesting to get a row of cars mostly from the 1970s all together that far into the 1980s.
