Well, since my last post on the subject, I'm now down to this again:

Or these:

MUTHA_Sterling has the Micra.

Right now I'd drive anything. But I need some of this:

Mrs.Ceri and I currently run these:

But I hanker for the halcyon days of running these two:

Still got both - still no time, skillz or money to fix.

And when I win the lottery I'll have one of these, please.

I wonder why most of you don´t drive the car they would like too. Some "cars that you would rather be driving" are cheaper then the ones you drive as a daily. Is it comfort (AC and so on) that makes you drive newer cars or is safety-issues? I don´t drive my Camry now because of the salt = rust.

Probably reliability in a lot of cases too!

Salt, I do not use my Visa in the winter to try and preserve it, as there are few about. I love driving the Visa and the reaction I get. “Must be Mad†and thats just friends! I will get the Visa out again in the spring and the ZX will be sold.

I think some of the cars we would "rather be driving" are simply too rare to be viable in regular use. Where are the new factory-fresh wings for a 1966 Humber Sceptre, for example? It'll be a lot easier to find a set for, say, a 2003 Ford Focus. The Sceptre (random choice) won't be compromised in traffic, it'll keep up; but not all the choices will. Economy? If that's a priority, fucking walk! Otherwise, drive the car, fill the tank, pay the price, and look happy. And if daily life dictates that you drive something relatively sane, well you still have choices.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I used to commute 27 miles through 2 towns, using a 20-year-old Volvo 740 Estate. And that was my "sane" car! At the end, while the Volvo was my daily, I also had a 1962 Cadillac. See, it can be done. And I was a truck driver and care worker, not a merchant banker.

When the Transport Department finally gets on the job, I'll be using my Granada regularly too. 39 years old, V6 Essex; and Cypriot traffic. This will be fun.

Here is my daily. The regulars will be familiar with it. In the last six months nothing has gone wrong with it. This is impressive by the low, low standards it has set for itself. I am now reasonably happy with it as most of the more irritating problems have been beaten into submission.

The C4 replaced a 306 which I almost worshipped. In an ideal world where my family didn't have to share the car \ were owed money, this is what I'd run every day:

The best of the breed - a 306 Rallye.

Nothing wrong with it at all although in an ideal world I'd have a turbo in metallic blue, silver or candy gold. In proper shite terms, I'd like one of these
