I've always liked Jonny Smith from Fifth Gear. He has character.

Caught a yank ginga on one of the cable channels, kind of a mix of a banger racer and Dog the bounty hunter, didn't get his name but the program was called something imaginative like 'Cut it in half.'

The twat was making a dogs abortion of cutting open pinball machines, pool table etc. to see how they work, I'm sure he'll get around to chopping up some tasty car, and I shall then submit the fool here.

I can't stand Humble. Her and that Ben Foooogle chap both have such a condescending manner, as if they're explaining stuff to a four year old. "This car has wheels. That's a good thing." Mind you, Humble did once drive a 2CV against a Landy off road, and the Landy lost... (2CV may have been a custom built four-wheel drive one though...)

I was a bit sad to see that they don't go around with slim jims and slide hammers and taking '72 Mustangs off people's drives in the middle of the night anymore, like in that Harry Dean Stanton film.

 

Still, theres some comedy California assholes amongst the people who get their cars taken back!

To be fair, I don't watch a lot of motoring TV, mostly because they're all f*cking annoying. But V B-H gets my vote. So you raced once upon a time, hen? Congrats, now Plato will show you the way round, and please, for the love of God, don't say a word.

Brewer, I find endearingly crap; I've known a few chancers like him in the trade. They get by on being exactly like that, so he's kinda comforting to me.

Clarkson's the principal reason I don't watch much - but I'll give him his due, he had a go at driving a truck (ok, not just any truck; a Magnum with the legendarily rubbish B18 'box in it), and that was about as 'real world' as TG's been in his tenure.

British shows are iffy, on the whole. It's the American shows (with the honourable exception of Pimp My Ride) which reduce me to yelling at the TV. You know, the 'Discovery Channel' ones involving chops and/or rods. Just F*cking abysmal.

There's an English motoring program which I think is sometimes shown on Motors TV. Cant remember the name but the main presenter is some skinny long-ish blonde haired wannabe Clarkson, who believe it or not is quite annoying. Probably alright in real life, just infront of the camera he fails.

 

I keep on thinking it's 'Pulling Power', but I'm sure that's a different program alltogether.

 

..I voted for Hammond though, never liked him. He may be big into cars but that doesnt make him less irritating on TV.

Brendan Coogan was Clarkson's replacement on TG but he got done for drunk driving almost instantly, I'm not sure he even made it on screen.
