I’m sat at my desk working*, but all I can think about is a man in Nottingham with a trailer.

Current fleet status:

XC90: knocking suspension slight electrical issue
9-3: creaking suspension and overdue a service
9000: needs rust addressing and slow puncture
2CV #1: Needs a new head
2CV #2: Needs the brakes to work

And that’s not including the project cars.

So what I really need is another car… which needs a bit of work… right? Right?

Yep, when I needed to do lots of work to both my cars I bought another one. It's helped* a lot.

For a second I briefly questioned whether I'd bought a trailer and somehow forgotten.

I've got a trailer.

I can't see it because the weeds are so high..🤦

IS IT ANOTHER 2CV?!

On this occasion… it is not. 4 is too many anyway!

The good news is that it is ideal family transsport and will fit all the sprogs in in comfort and even with three point seatbelts!

I’m not on the phones again until Monday, if you call in I’ve saved the notes on your account 😉

It is a motor vehicle of infinitely more taste than this.

thought the 9000 was the best thing youd ever bought?

Indubitably it is. And the 9000 will go nowhere.

Fun fact, my 9000 hails from 1997 which is the same year as this car was bought by a man called Wayne. Who owned the car from then until this very day.

This is the most generic "work" photo I have ever seen.  AI couldn't even produce a "work" photo that is more "work" than this.

Was expecting the rest to be ‘…this is an M&S collection thread’ and now I’m trying to figure out if what you’re buying would fit in at an M&S car park.

...it's a delivery thread. Is it there yet, Mister?

ETA was 5pm originally, it was updated to 5.45.

No arrival as yet. But my house is hard to find.

So… some more information…

I spied this particular vehicle for sale on the gumtree having had a saved search for these on both eBay and marketplace… but never looking on gumtree before. In the last year only one had come up which had a few days test and a brake issue. This one was overpriced and 3 hours away. I exchanged a few messages with the seller. Turns out it’s been owned for 28 years, but stored for a good few of those. But in March it was hauled out, checked over and then fired in for a test, which it passed with no advisories! I decided to do a most un-Brownnova thing and go and view. And yes, it was as good as described. Money was talked and a deal was reached. With the long period of standing I opted not to trust tyres and hoses and have it hauled back. I’ve lost my bottle when it comes to iffy collections.

This is an unusually sensible approach for me, as I have been known to buy a car from a scrap yard off eBay sight unseen with 3 days of MoT left before now…
