There’s one being broken in my local scrappers if you need bits? In Naaaarfolk though.

Crikey! That looks like it might have the front seats that our 306 is in desperate need of (ours are torn to shreds).

PM sent.

Even further when you realise the GWM number plate is from Southport!  The original airport car probably wore one similar.

Oh yeah it’s a Liverpool area code, thought it was Swansea 😂

It does look to be in good condition. It makes me wonder why it has been scrapped?

I think it was small niggly jobs that needed doing and the owner had had enough of it. Started and ran in the yard apparently.

Yeah, shame, that. If we'd allowed them to, the small niggly jobs would have sent ours to its demise years ago. Nobody in their right mind would have bothered replacing its rear axle, for example...

Anyway, sadly the car in that yard is slightly too new to be an interior match for ours, so I'll remain on the lookout. If anybody encounters a pair of three-door front seats that look like this (but nicer), Ca$h Waiting etc etc306seats.jpg.08c2d8cf25250f6751071c3bb23c15fc.jpg

Much as it would be great to go for originality, I'd say parts for ph1 306s are already becoming pretty thin on the ground. If it's a cheap solution, it'll sort the entire interior setup.

So I'm having some trouble locating a replacement boot lid.

I tried my local scrapyard but they had no 306's in. Ebay has a few but they are collection only or are silly money when postage is included. Online breakers have none but I have found a load of them in Europe, again postage is sky high.

In the for sale thread someone did post a picture of a 306 in a scrapyard in Wrexham, I might have to pay that a visit. However I have fallen into a worm hole of differences between phase 1, 2 and 3 models. Phase 2 onwards (mines a phase 1) have a high level break light and the rear screenwash is mounted above the screen rather than being on the wiper.

There is someone selling a load of Dturbo parts near me including a boot lid but he doesn't want to split and I don't want a load of other parts that I don't need!

In the off chance that anyone has a spare 306 boot lid knocking around then please let me know.

Phase 1 also has a different boot latch handle, smaller with no built in badge IIRC

Yep, thats right. Apparantly phase 2 have two boles in the boot lid for the latch, phase 1 has only one.

So would a Phase 2/3 fit, or does it have to be a Phase 1?

I could potentially pick this Phase 1 up for you, but we'd need to shitely it up to yours somehow...

Loving this, I loved Peugeot and Citroen cars of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, really need one back in my life at some point! Looking forward to your progress with this one!

Phase 2/3 would fit and do the job. But ideally I'd want a phase 1 lid so that I don't have to modify it.

Thanks for the offer. I've seen that one in Newport. I'm still not over the pain of having to go to Newport once a week for work about 10 years ago!

I'm going to wait a little longer to see what comes up. If nothing comes up then I think I'll call on the power of AS to get one transported a bit closer to home.

What is the likelihood of finding a replacement rear window to repair the existing tailgate? Or are there are other issues with the existing tailgate.

That had crossed my mind. I think that the screen is bonded in place so it might be a bit tricky to get all of the old glass and sealant out. I also read on a 306 forum that the conneciton for the heated rear screen is quite delicate and is easily broken.

You can buy a plexiglass rear screen that is used on rally and track 306's. Thats about £190 and doesn't have any heating elements in it. I could alsway get a stick on heated screen for it, not sure how plexi glass reacts to localised heating!

@Blake's Den

To be honest, finding the right part on your doorstep for a now rare car is going to be nigh-on impossible.

@N Dentressangle spoke about shitelying up the boot lid. I am about half way between Newport and where you are, although little nearer to you than Newport. If @N Dentressangle were happy to meet me say in Hereford, I could shitely this up towards you say Shrewsbury or a little further?

Let me know what you guys think.

I've got a mate in Bewdley I see regularly, which is close to you I think?

Shrewsbury would work for me. It's a pleasant hour or drive away. But I don't want to trouble anyone

That's exactly where I live. Red5 (Sam) by any chance? He lives literally 2 mins walk from me.

No, chap called Graham Wooldridge

No trouble at all! So long as it gets this car water tight and at least in some sort of reliable transport. Besides,. I've been looking for an excuse to visit Shrewsbury. I'm originally from Telford so have family around there and used to get taken a lot to Shrewsbury. Not been there for years.

Ah OK I wouldn't know. But Bewdley town is where I am. Your mate probably passes my place most days.

Yes I saw them on eBay, they are in the back of beyond!

40 mins from me, I popped over earlier on in the year as I needed a full set of wheel bolts, cost a quid each. Lord Sterling etc are 10 mins further up the road from me.

I decided to do a bit of rust investigation on the 306 tonight. I know that their achillees heel is the passenger side C-post. Dirt gets flung up into a dirt trap which causes rust right next to the seat belt mounting. I carefully peeled away the plastic trim and saw some rust. After all this car has lived by the Mersey estuary for over a decade.

After removing the panel I was quite surprised:

A quick pass with the wire wheel, some rust converter and some paint and I think it will be fine.

Better than the one on this post:

That's a success story and not a BFHA!

Stayed in that hotel a few times, here's a photo of your car from 2015:
